Mt Vernon Rod & Gun Club

A very productive first work weekend of 2017 was held Oct 5-8. A tree that had hit the outhouse and caused some slight damage was logged and removed. A tree with potential to cause some damage was removed preemptively. The grounds were leaf-blown with great care. The driveway side rear pier received a rack brace to match the repaired opposing side updated last year. The roof was cleaned and the chimney was swept. Damage to the chimney cap and roof from another tree was repaired as well. Inside, the furnishings were removed from the first floor and a thorough cleaning ensued. Meals were expertly prepared by Jimmy, which we all a enjoyed and appreciate. Thanks to all those members as well as those who came to see that Mt. Vernon is kept in tip-top shape!
