The heat is finally here, so let’s talk about some ways to use water to enhance your child’s development! Take a paint brush and paint letters and numbers on the sidewalk or pavement with water! Water tables or bin with toys, try scooping them out with spoons or cups, or seeing which items sink or float Throwing water balloons or sponge bombs Running under or over a sprinkler... Pour water from one container to another Filling up large sponges and squeezing them out Water with dish soap in a container, mix it with a spoon or mixer, then hide objects in it or work on tolerating new textures Use water droppers to pick up water and squirt it out to work on fine motor skills Wash toys with water and soap using a toothbrush to scrub them! Happy water play everyone!

Now that the weather is getting warmer it is time to get your children outside to work on their motor planning, coordination, and strength. A great activity that can work on these skills is bubbles! You can have your children chase the bubbles, work on isolating their fingers to pop them, jump to get them, stomp on them, or work on their oral motor control and strength to work on blowing the bubbles themselves!
