On Saturday September 17, the LMBA Club celebrated its 100 year anniversary. Their history was closely related to serving many of the Catholics in New Galilee and surrounding communities. In 1916 the LMBA Club allowed Father Kelly to use the LMBA hall for any purpose he may choose, to unite the people and further the cause of Christ. Here he held his first mass in New Galilee. People came from Enon Valley, Darlington, South Beaver Township, Cannelton and surrounding communities. At this time the Railroad made accommodations for passengers on a small shifting run between New Galilee and Lisbon, Ohio by the way of Cannelton. If you are interested in more history of New Galilee, the LMBA Club or St. Ann's Church, stop in 709 Washington Avenue and check out my collection of photos, articles and more.
