A few more photos from the beloved hardware store that closed in 2007 but was rescued from demolition and reconfigured for offices, retail and The New Holland Area Historical Society on the second-floor.
Even more photos from the Kaufman hardware family as we reminisce about this lost institution at 201 E. Main St. New Holland. The store on the corner.

This year Santa will not be making his annual visit to the New Holland Area Historical Society Museum due to the ongoing coronavirus concerns. There’s a rumor that Santa May make a surprise visit back to the Museum this summer, so stay in touch. The New Holland Area Historical Society Museum will be closed to walk-in visitors during December and January. Private tours for small groups can be requested by calling (717) 538-3079. Check the society’s website at nhhistorical.com for updated information opening and hours.
This is along Route 23 somewhere between New Holland and Lancaster. Does anybody recognize this intersection? The Historical Society is looking for help with this. Thanks. Also the Museum is now open Thursday and Saturday each week from 10 AM until 2 PM. Stop by!
The Museum is now open every week on Thursdays from 10 AM until 2 PM. Stop and explore the wonderful new display we have set up about local and national history from 125 years ago in 1895. New Holland Machine Company later called Sperry New Holland, then Ford New Holland and now Case New Holland is also celebrating 125 years of manufacturing agricultural machinery. Two great additions to our regular displays which include the one room schoolhouse and the artwork of Myrtle Tremblay and so much more. We ask you to practice social distancing and wear a mask. Hope to see you soon! Private tours are also available for scheduling during other days and hours.
Looking to the northeast across Main Street as they install trolley tracks through new Holland in the early 1900s. Steeple in the foreground is Trinity Lutheran church and the other one is St. Stephen Reformed Church. The building on the left is where Lickity-split restaurant and Hicks clock shop resides now
A great story In the Ephrata Shopping News talking about our recent displays that are now available for public viewing.
