Attention Parents of 10th Grade Students: This spring we will be offering the PSAT 10 and registration is now open. The PSAT 10 will take place on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 during the school day. Your student will have the opportunity to take the PSAT 10 at school on March 2, 2021, during the regular school day. Reasons for 10th graders to take the PSAT 10:... It identifies their academic strengths and weaknesses early in high school, when there’s plenty of time to improve before college. It lets them know which Advanced Placement courses they’re most likely to do well in. It’s a great way to practice for the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade, which qualifies them for the National Merit Scholarship Program and a chance to win recognition and money for college. When they take the PSAT 10, your child can opt in to receiving scholarship information. It’s a great way to practice for the SAT, a test that’s an important part of college applications. Your child can use their PSAT 10 score to get a free, personalized SAT practice plan through Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy. The deadline to register is December 1, 2020. Please follow the link to the Google form to register (please only fill out the form once): https://forms.gle/i1bPy9Uv1J4A7uJ38 The Cost is $17. Payment can be made by cash or check (make checks payable to Newport School District) and should be given to Mrs. Markle in the Counseling and Career Center. February 2, 2021 is the deadline to pay for the PSAT 10. Fee Waivers are available to those who qualify. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Grigoryan, HS Counselor, at 717-567-2521 or [email protected] OR College Board PSAT 10 Please encourage your 10th grade students to sign up if they are thinking about attending college after high school. This information will be posted in the students Career Exploration Google Classroom as well as on the Counseling website.
