Last week was a difficult time for our police department as we mourned the loss of Active Duty Police Sergeant Frank Ambrose #5230 after dedicating over 25 years of service to our community. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Newtown and Wrightstown communities, business owners, law enforcement agencies and public officials for your overwhelming support. Your condolences and attendance at Sergeant Ambrose's memorial service was appreciated more than you know.

It is a sad day in our Country for the incident which is currently unfolding and has unfolded today at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. Regardless of your political affiliation, we are Americans 1st and this incident damages the image of the United States and increases vulnerabilities for those who wish to do harm to our Country, the opportunity to do so. I want to reassure our community in Newtown & Wrightstown Townships that the Newtown Township Police Department is... here to provide professional law enforcement services to our neighbors and will protect the constitutional rights of all parties, but will not tolerate vandalism or violence. I want to reassure our community that I will continue to lead our police agency in the most professional manner and represent our community in representing American values and while reassuring the public of Law Enforcement objectives in providing for everyone's safety. Please stay safe, and I'm asking that you keep our law enforcement partners in the D.C. area in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this incident. Thanks, John L. Hearn Chief of Police
