When you don't have time to come see us, or to practice other "big" self-care, the little things you do each day really matter. All of these can be done in a matter of minutes, and can serve to shake off a bad day or "reset" your mood. What do you see when you go for a walk around your building? Spend a few minutes just washing away the stress or anxiety in the tub or shower. (Aromatherapy adds a nice touch too!)... Taste your food - REALLY taste it. Notice its texture. Is it sweet, sour, bitter? How does your mood change when you just focus on your breath for a few minutes? Go outside and look up. Sun? Stars? Moon? Rain? What do you see? Just be present in it. What happens when you put your thoughts to paper? Can you let them go then? Take some big, deep breaths, and slowly let each one go.

It's always best not to expect anything in particular when you float. There are so many variables that could impact your experience - everything from what you ate (or didn't) to how you've spent your day before coming in, to the time of day, and what's going on in your life. No two floats are ever the same. Your first float might be full of curiosity and jitters. Your third might be the sweet spot when you just fall asleep. One day, you might dive deep into problem-solving or dealing with an emotional issue. Some days, you might find "nothingness" comes easily, and some days, your brain goes a hundred miles per hour.

Let's talk ears, shall we? They're pretty cool organs - all different shapes and sizes, some can hear every little thing, like a bat, and well, some don't. When you float, your ears are typically submerged under the water, so we recommend wearing the provided ear plugs to 1) keep that salty water out, and 2) reduce any sounds that may disturb you. ... If salt water does happen to get into your ears, we provide a rinse that will help to clear it out. If you don't notice it until you get home, you can use regular vinegar to cut the salt (if you hear crunchy sounds), or rubbing alcohol to dry out any water. If you happen to have ear tubes, that's one of the few conditions when we recommend that you DON'T float since that salt water can go straight to your brain. Not fun. #StaySalty
