We were #bobcatproud to have USDA secretary Sonny Perdue visit NMS yesterday to announce that school meals will remain free to ALL students until the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Did you know? Staff at Mt. Wolf feeds three classrooms of students at Leg Up Farms. These students attend Soaring Heights and the LIU but we provide them breakfast and lunch.

It was an honor to have Mr. Perdue at the middle school today and we were please to learn that free meals for ALL students will continue until the end of the school year.

THANK YOU! During our first day time pickup, we served 420 meals and just wanted to take a minute to thank our Bobcat families, as well as, our staff for their flexibility. Our kitchen crews are working harder than ever to feed not only our brick and mortar students but also our community at large and we couldn't be prouder of this small but dedicated team.

PLEASE SHARE: Beginning the week of September 21, 2020, due to the recent volume of curbside meals and to better prepare to serve our Bobcat Community, we will begin requiring families to pre-order meals on the Child Nutrition Page. In addition, the Curbside Pick-up time has changed and will now be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 am 12 noon in front of the High School. http://track.spe.schoolmessenger.com//RgRhRPUDP0RFaHR0cHM6... The USDA recognizes that many families are still struggling with the economic effects of COVID-19. As a result, the USDA has extended school meal waivers tentatively through December 31, 2020, allowing school districts to serve free breakfast and lunch meals to all children, regardless of a family's economic status. All children, age 18 years old and under, that reside in the Northeastern School District are eligible to receive the free school meals from the District. Reminder that ALL Northeastern Students are able to get a free breakfast and free lunch until December 31, 2020. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. REMINDER: Free Breakfast & Lunch for ALL STUDENTS - through Dec. Absolutely ALL STUDENTS can receive free lunch and breakfast through Dec. 31, 2020. You don't need to do anything (no applications, etc.). If/when your child goes through the lunch line, his/her order will simply come up as $0.00. If you typically receive free or reduced lunch and you have not completed the application, please complete the application so that your child continues to receive this service throu...ghout the rest of the school year (so it doesn't end in December). Free and reduced lunch count also impacts other programming, so we still want to have that count recorded accurately for the district. Questions?

Hello Bobcats!! I have some exciting news to share. On August 31, 2020, USDA released nine nationwide waivers related to the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Program. The waiver is to grant permission to School Food Authorities (SFA) to serve all children/students for free through the SSO Program through December 31, 2020.... On September 2 at 4:37pm we received a memo from PDE regarding the reinstatement of the Seemless Summer Option Program. This memo was prompted by changes from USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) on August 31. Beginning Tuesday, Sept 8, all Northeastern students are eligible for free breakfast and free lunch unitl December 31, 2020. Students will still need to have their scan cards/student ID to received a meal when in school. Students that are doing the online learning (BCA) will no longer need to preorder meals. We will be providing a breakfast and lunch for BSA students through the curbside pick-up on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm in front of the High School. The curbside pickup of meals is free for anyone under the age of 18. There were rumors that perhaps USDA would approve free meals for all during the pandemic. Today information was shared that the extension will expire for ALL STUDENTS to be free. Free or Reduced meals will remain income based. You can easily apply at www.schoolcafe.com and select Northeastern from the drop down. This can be done at any point in the school year should your circumstances change. Our students participating in the Bobcat Cyber Academy will continue to have an opportunity to grab a school lunch but these meals will be provided based on their current meal eligibility, ie, free, reduced, or paying. Why we do what we do

We had our highest number of participating families today. A big THANK YOU to the many child nutrition staff members and administrators who donated candy and plastic eggs to surprise our families with a little holiday joy and a special thank you to CVS Pharmacy Manchester for their generous candy donation. Since school is now IN SESSION for Monday, April 13th, we WILL be handing out meals at both locations between 10-11:30am. Have a nice holiday weekend.
