BALTO UPDATE 6/19/19: Balto has been seen multiple time in the last 2 weeks in the Norristown/Norriton area! Please share with anyone you can in that area. We a...re optimistic that he may be slowing down and sticking in one area... and just MAYBE be able to catch soon. More info will come as soon as we have it! And thank you for your continued support. BALTO UPDATE 6/6/19: HE'S BEEN SEEN AGAIN! This boy knows how to travel! We have confirmed sightings now (throughout this past week) in the Norristown/Plymouth Meeting areas. This means he has traveled ~30 min southwest of Montgomeryville, where he was originally lost in March. Please share with anybody you may know in the Norristown, Bridgeport, King of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting, East Norriton and neighboring areas. As always, please do not approach or call out to Balto if you should see him as while is he not aggressive, he is skittish and WILL 100% run from you, I promise. The best, and most helpful thing you can do for us and Balto if you see him is to: 1. Note the date, time location of the sighting (and direction he was headed) 2. Take a picture or video of him if you can 3. Call 267.408.6061 with the info in 1. and 2. so our team can plan our next move. Reminder Balto is a 2-3 y/o Coonhound (like a tall, leggy beagle), medium-large in size, ~40-50lbs, tricolor with copper ears. Thank you all again for your support, and for spreading the word in an entirely new area!! UPDATE 5/4/19: It's been an anxious two weeks since our last sighting of Balto, but we've been reminded by Team Ruby and other professionals that many dogs go "silent" for longer than this, and resurface. We know he's still out there, possibly wandering further, but maybe returning to the Hatfield/Lansdale corridor where he's been seen many times. Please continue to share this posting, keep an eye out, and if you see him, try to snap a photo, and then call 267.408.6061! Thank you for your concern and attention. UPDATE 4/16: Balto seen and photo-IDd in Kulpsville/Harleysville area! Please, if you live in that area and would be willing to place a LOST DOG sign on your front yard for just a week or two, it could help bring him home. Please call if you can do that: 267.408.6061. Thanks! Spread the word! Balto is STILL MISSING as of Mar 17, 2019, last seen in Lansdale, PA 19446 Near Morningside Dr & Vilsmeier Rd Update: Balto has been missing since Friday 3/8. He's a medium-large sized coonhound, between 40 and 50lbs. If you see him: FIRST try to snap a picture of him for positive id SECOND call the police AND 267-408-6061 DO NOT CHASE **UPDATE SUNDAY 3.17.19** Balto was sighted trotting in the Hatfield/Franconia Twp area at 3:30pm today. We actually got a look at him first-hand this time (which is the first time that's happened since he's gone missing). Since we have sightings in multiple locations over the past few days, the current search grid includes: Hatfield, Franconia, Souderton, West Point, Kulpsville, Line Lexington, Colmar, Montgomery Mall area, North Wales, Lansdale, Chalfont, Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd, and Harleysville. If you have friends and family in these areas, please tag them and ask them to share. As a reminder, DO NOT CHASE. Please call in sightings. 267.408.6061 Thanks! Description: Coon hound/beagle mix. Very shy and scared. Please contact us immediately (worried sick!) 267.408.6061 UPDATE 3.9.19 - Last seen 3.8.19 late afternoon crossing 309 from West-to-east at 5points and headed down Doylestown Road. Later seen off Upper State Road between 309 and County Line road. Lansdale - Montgomeryville - Chalfont - Colmar - North Wales area. For more info or to contact Balto's owner, click here: https://www.pawboost.com/p/5437813 ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Mar 28, 2019*** "Some good news: Balto has been seen plenty, including this week, in the Lansdale/Hatfield areas primarily. But he is still people-shy. Though it has been a few weeks, he seems to be finding food, water and enough shelter to survive. He's a tough guy and is not giving up. And WE are not giving up either! But he needs to come home. Please keep an active eye out for him and contact us if you see him. We will find him! (and will provide updates here!)" ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Apr 05, 2019*** "Balto has been sighted twice this week. We are simply desperate to get more sightings/locations in order to bring this tired, frightened boy home where he needs to be. Please KEEP LOOKING OUT for him! And call 267-408-6061 immediately if you see him. Finally: if you DO see him, and can snap a photo of him, it would be very helpful. We want to see his condition. Thank you to everyone who has offered support, prayers and good wishes. We can use all of the above :)" ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Apr 11, 2019*** "This week's update on BALTO: Balto is very much still alive, but still too scared and skittish to come to people. He is proving to be hard to capture. We've also been challenged by Lansdale Borough officials who have made us take down posted signs, so the number of sighting reports have gone down as a result. If you love dogs, and care about this lost guy, we need your help by SHARING THIS INFORMATION with everyone you know, on social media, but also by printing out this page and showing it to neighbors & friends. Social sharing is our best hope of keeping the word out and "top of the mind" about Balto. And the more people are aware of him, the more people will call us with sighting information. And these precious calls are the NUMBER ONE tool for bringing him back. More sightings & reports = getting Balto home. Thank you to those who have already called (over 30!). When we find him (and we will) it will be because a big community of dog loving people pitched in to help. It will be a great day for all of us." ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Apr 19, 2019*** ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Apr 29, 2019. Balto has not been sighted now in about 10 days. While this is obviously not what we hope for, we know that dogs can and do "re-surface" after long periods of being quiet. So there is hope! We also know that lost dogs tend to return to where they've come from... so it wouldn't be strange for him to show up in Lansdale/Hatfield again. If you see him: FIRST try to snap a picture of him for positive id SECOND call the police AND 267-408-6061 DO NOT CHASE ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF May 03, 2019*** ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF May 10, 2019*** ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Jun 06, 2019*** "**BALTO UPDATE 6.6.19** He's been sighted again! Please report any sightings immediately. If he is settling down anywhere, we will have our best chance to catch him yet! Please share, particularly with those in Norristown/West Norriton areas." ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Jul 06, 2019*** "Update: July 5th Balto was seen again several times in the last week, even caught on video. Looks dirty and scared but nourished so we know he's finding food. Felt like we were so close, then July 4th fireworks and thunder happened and scared him. Hasn't been seen last 2 days. Please report any sightings ASAP. Hoping he surfaces in Norristown/Norriton areas again." ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Jul 13, 2019*** "Hey West Norriton, Norristown and East Norriton... Balto needs your eyes (and cell phones)! This long-lost guy (almost 4 months now!) has been seen a lot in the West Norriton and Norristown areas recently. Team Ruby (dog rescue org) is optimistic they will catch him, but we need the help of the community! IF YOU SEE HIM... do NOT chase or call him. DO try to snap a photo on your phone, and call us ASAP. Sightings = bringing Balto home. Thank you!" ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Jul 22, 2019*** "Update: July 23 Balto was seen on video this week, eating & drinking food that had been put out for him. Some reason for optimism that we may be getting closer to catching this elusive boy. West Norriton/Norristown area still. Please do NOT chase or call him, but do call with any sightings!!" ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Aug 01, 2019*** "AUGUST 1, 2019: Balto is alive and apparently well; we saw him on video again this week. But after 4 months, he's still on the loose. The good news is, he seems to really like West Norriton and Norristown. He's been staying in that zone for the last month. Rescue organization Team Ruby is on the trail, but now we really NEED YOUR HELP. If you see him: 1. Try to snap a pic on your phone (so we can confirm it's him), and 2. CALL 267-408-6061 ASAP Every sighting is bringing us closer to bringing this boy home. Thank you!" ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Aug 26, 2019*** "Balto is still on the run in the West Norriton and Norristown area. Please keep an eye out for him if you are in that area, and call ASAP to 267.408.6061. IMPORTANT: do NOT approach him or call him; it's urgent that he remains in the area (comfortable and feeling secure) so we can take steps to catch him, at last. We're getting closer, but need your help to bring him home." ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Sep 04, 2019*** "Balto is (apparently) pretty skilled at finding food, water and shelter on his own. Last seen (a week ago) in West Norriton. Also visits in Norristown quite a bit. Professional dog rescue folks are standing by, ready to bring him to safety...but we need up-to-date sightings to narrow down his location. Please pass the word around... notifying the rescue team (call 267.408.6061) is the key to getting Balto back!" ***Re-Post - STILL MISSING AS OF Oct 09, 2019*** "Balto continues to be spotted in the vicinity of West Norriton. Rescue organization Team Ruby is working on plans to catch him, at long last. He's been on the run for six months now. PLEASE NOTE: when you see him, please do NOT post the location of the sighting on FB or local social media. That just increases the chance that well-meaning dog lovers will unintentionally scare him off. DO call 267-408-6061 ASAP and report all the details. That's what we need, right now, to bring him home at last! Thank you! And please keep looking. We need your eyes now more than ever :)"
