A #TBT in honor of the upcoming holiday. This photo was taken by the old standpipe tank in Lansdale, next to our previous NPWA office on Chestnut Street.
Did you know that many of our water sampling locations are inside local businesses? When businesses were required to lock down last year, NPWA installed outdoor sampling stations and restructured the sampling schedule in order to meet monitoring requirements. Just one of many ways we adapted during the pandemic to uphold our commitment of providing a safe, reliable, and economical water supply.
We are excited to announce the release of our first children’s book, The Source to Tap Mystery! We invite children to take an adventure with H2Ollie, and his friends, to help solve the mystery of where their water comes from and how it gets to their homes. Check out the attached flyer for dates and times to receive a free copy of the book. More details about our book can be found at the link below. https://npwa.org/childrens-book/... One benefit to working on night flushing is catching a beautiful sunset. Photo taken by NPWA employee, Jimmy Fessler.
Ditch Taco Tuesday (or order a Taco Pizza) because it's National Pizza Day! According to Forbes, it takes almost 42 gallons of water to make one single slice of pizza - 18 for the flour, 21 for the cheese, and 2.5 for the sauce!
Will you be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday? What do you look forward to the most: the game, the food, or the commercials? Here's a commercial near and dear to our hearts that ran during the 2016 Super Bowl. Five years later, it's still a very relevant and important message from Colgate #EveryDropCounts ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vqui4XZvQ_Y
Even during a pandemic, our lobby area overflowed with generosity thanks to our customers, community members, and staff.
Water Main Break: Our crews have closed Nanlyn Road in Sellersville to repair a water main break. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation as we work to make this repair.
Did you know the human heart is made up of 73% water? The heart wants what it wants - treat yours to a tall glass of NPWA water to celebrate #NationalHeartMonth!
#TipTuesday Don't store water hoses outdoors in the cold months. The freezing and thawing of water left inside a hose can cause premature wear. To store, first remove any sprayers or other attachments and then drain water from inside the hose by keeping one end on the ground while elevating the opposite end. Store in a location that won't experience freezing temperatures. Disconnecting your garden hoses also prevents the possibility of frozen water rupturing the faucet.
You still have time to bring joy to a child this holiday season. If you're doing some shopping this weekend, please consider a gift to donate to our Toys for Tots collection.
Although National Infrastructure Security Month has come to a close (November), we would like to highlight the vital role our essential workers have played during this historic year. Despite a global pandemic, they have worked continuously to maintain our infrastructure and keep the water flowing, which is critical for all of our health and safety.
Imagine waking up at 4am every day and making a 2.5 mile, one-way walk for fresh water, and carrying back the heavy buckets. Or having your young children not go to school because they need to fetch fresh water every day for the family. Or surviving in a global pandemic with no clean, running water to wash your hands, or a sanitary place to use the bathroom. This year especially for #GivingTuesday, we'd like to suggest Water For People, an organization making life-ch...anging, and life-saving progress in other countries by providing access to clean water to those that need it. https://www.facebook.com//photos/a.5593/10158025379999565/ See more
Black Friday is here! Struggling with those hard to shop for folks on your list? Consider an eco-friendly gift, such as reusable drinkware (bottles, cups, straws, or coffee filters), to name a few. They will save the recipient money and help out the environment too! Don't forget to check out your local shops and vendors, as tomorrow is Small Business Saturday!
