As we all look back on 2020, year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. 2021 has a bright future here in our neighborhood, with the Five Points project in full swing. Bonvue Phase II will bring additional renovations to homes in dire need of care and restoration. Updates to Riverview Park are also on the horizon. Our business district has welcomed new ventures with Father and Son Pizza and Bakery as well as the Observatory Hill Deli. To all of our friends and neighbors, may 2021 bring you great joy and happiness. Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. #2021
Any snow angels out there?

We extend our condolences to the family of Rich Sestric who passed away yesterday. As you may know, Rich and his wife, Jane, founded Observatory Hill Inc. They became known as 'the spark plugs of Observatory Hill' because of their tireless efforts to make our neighborhood a better place. Their vision and their tenacity have paved a way for OHI. Rest in Peace, Rich. Your memories and your contributions will live on in us and in our great neighborhood. https://www.devlinfuneralhome.com/obitua/richard-j-sestric/

We thank everyone who got up early on a Saturday morning to participate in the Garbage Olympics event. We had about a dozen volunteers and picked up a lot of garbage, tires, a George Foreman grill and a sad little elmo among other finds. We thank the the City for hosting this annual clean up and for providing all the supplies. Thank you to Public Works for picking up all this garbage. Thank you volunteers for working to make our neighborhood a better place. Thank you to Bobby Wilson's office for assisting us and thank you to the Observatory Hill Deli for our yummy lunches. Observatory Hill is truly a stellar neighborhood.
The Observatory Hill Deli on Baytree Street now offers outdoor seating. The grill is ready to go. Stop by and enjoy great weather while you dine.
Garbage Olympics is tomorrow, Sept 26 from 9am - 11am. Our neighborhood is participating for the first time in this citywide garbage clean up competition. Registration is not required. There are plenty of supplies and PPE. If interested in participating, meet in the city parking lot on the corner of Perrysville Ave & Mairdale at 9am to pick up your supplies.
Cool post card of the Allegheny Observatory. Stamps were a cent!
