*PHISHING WARNING* The help desk has received numerous phishing emails being sent from compromised UArts accounts. Please be wary of any emails you may get inviting you to open a shared Google doc if you were not expecting one. If in doubt about the validity of these emails please try and contact the sender and ask them to verify such activity or call the help desk. DO NOT OPEN THE GOOGLE DOC LINK.

Heads up folks! There will be a planned PECO power outage effecting Terra Hall tonight! Terra Hall will be emptied of occupants starting at 9:30 pm tonight in preparation for the outage at 10pm. PECO expects their work to be completed after 1-2 hours, after which Terra will be re opened to students. **IF YOU ARE USING A CAMPUS DESK TOP COMPUTER IN TERRA** The power outage will obviously cause the desktops to shut down, please make sure you save ANY projects you are working on to a cloud service, an external hard drive, flash drive, etc BEFORE 9:30pm to protect your work!!

Hey Party People! Don't Be a Victim! We've been seeing an increase in scam callers trying to break into computers and get people to give them their credit card or other banking info! If you receive a call warning you about viruses or hackers on your computer, do not give computer access or banking info to these callers. These callers may say they are from Microsoft or Apple, do not rely on caller ID to screen these calls. If in doubt, stop by the help desk. We are always happy to help!!

Dear University Community, On Saturday, January 21st, our Internet Service Provider, Cogent, will be performing routine maintenance on our network: Start time: 12:00 AM (local time) 01/21/2017... End time: 06:00 AM (local time) 01/21/2017 Expected Outage/Downtime: 45-60 minutes During this maintenance window, you may experience up to two brief interruptions in service while Cogent completes the maintenance activities. However, due to the complexity of the work, your downtime may be longer. Cogent network operations engineers closely monitor the work and will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you.

Be on the look out for email scams! This one is making the rounds and targeting students, please dont give out personal info and always feel free to call the Help Desk if you are ever unsure about the validity of an email and need to confirm if it's legitimate!

FYI! On Sunday, November 13, 2016 OTIS will be upgrading major components in our network infrastructure. The upgrade will involve rolling outages of service as we remove and replace equipment in both Terra and Hamilton Halls. The following schedule approximates timing when work will be done: TERRA Colleague 8-8:30 AM (access interrupted)... Wireless 8:30-9:00 AM (access interrupted) Phones 9-9:30 AM (access interrupted) Floor to floor connections 930-1:30 PM (allows 15 minute interruptions per floor starting on 2nd Floor) HAMILTON Printing 2-3:00 PM Internet 3-3:30 PM Internet to Furness North & South 3:30-4:30 PM (access interrupted)

Digication has been experiencing some intermittent login issues this afternoon. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible!
