Folks, sorry for the last minute notice but we are cancelling the meal tonight due to the announcement of the verdict in the George Floyd case. We have reports of groups of protestors already gathering in east liberty and downtown. We hate to do this but we didn't expect this to verdict to come down so quickly. The safety of our guests and volunteers is our number one priority.

We had an awesome group of guests and volunteers at our grand reopening for indoor dining last evening at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh! Great food (thanks to Chef Liz of Community Kitchen Pittsburgh) and great fellowship along with safe social distancing! Next week’s meal will be served from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. As we ramp up, we’ll reach out to all who are eager to volunteer and begin scheduling help for future Tuesday’s.

Soft re-open tonight

From coast to coast, cities are preparing for possible protests, civil unrest and violence, regardless of the election's outcome. Most businesses in downtown Pittsburgh are also taking extra safety precautions. Out of an abundance of caution, we will not be serving food downtown tonight. We want to ensure that the safety and well-being of our guests remains our top priority. ... Pittsburgh police will patrol downtown with officers working 12-hour shifts. Police say it’ll be around-the-clock coverage for the entire week. We plan on being back down next Tuesday to resume normal meal times. God Bless, Outreached Arms

Thank you so much to Savita Vijay for the very generous donation today! This will feed a lot of hungry friends downtown. We have such amazing donors and volunteers!

Because of the generosity of our donors, we were able to bless this gentleman with a blanket and a new jacket. He was so appreciative and with tears in his eyes, he told me this was the first time he ever had a new coat. Thank you all.

We may have missed thanking some people in the series of posts tonight If that’s you, we’re sorry! Everybody there contributed to the evening’s success. Ryan Cenk’s vision was to give the less-fortunate a night to remember, and based on the feedback from guests and volunteers alike, we believe we accomplished that! Ryan’s spirit was alive and evident in the love and friendship among people who gathered even in the midst of a pandemic to enjoy a meal together!
