Under the new stimulus act the first $10,200 of your unemployment compensation for 2020 is not taxable. This was done mid March. If you filed your tax return earlier in the season the IRS will start to issue refunds mid May. They do not want an amended return for unemployment.

We currently are unsure how the IRS is handling the first $10,000 of your 2020 unemployment not being taxed. We will let everyone know as soon as we know.
