Great to see Monessen joining the PA towns & municipalities working to #ActOnClimate! The climate crisis requires everyone -- from rural industrial counties to big cities -- to get on board and cut greenhouse gas emissions. We hope more and more municipalities will follow suit and find ways to reduce their impact.

Around the world, the equivalent of one dump truck filled with clothing and other textiles is sent to a landfill or incinerator every second. We're on pace to throw 100 million tons of plastic waste into our rivers and oceans per year. To stop this plastic avalanche, we need to ban single use plastics and end the fracking-to-plastic pipeline.

The more researchers study fracking, the clearer it becomes that this dirty process is killing us. Fracking waste is a radioactive nightmare and it's being discharged untreated into our waterways (not to mention polluting our air).
