Due to ongoing public health and safety regulations, the Penn Relays will unfortunately not be able to hold a meet for open and professional athletes this spring. We still hope to be able to host a competition for scholastic and Masters participants this summer, pending the status of federal, state, and city regulations at that time. ... More information on the status of that meet will be released at a later date.

The Penn Relays grieves during the current crisis in the United States. Our country’s ongoing struggle has been marked most recently by the death of George Floyd. The resultant protests are but the latest tragedy of our country’s long internal grappling with race and ethnic relations. The Relays has always been an event open to all on the basis of ability. The event has long taken pride as one that transcends racial divides, providing all athletes a playing field often closed... elsewhere to many and where all athletes are cheered on by a diverse crowd. in the current crisis, the Penn Relays community chooses to respond as a family; we all bleed along with brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters. As in any family, an affront to the individual is an affront to the whole. Many of us remember the Civil Rights movement of a half-century ago. It was a time of struggle between who we were and who we wished to become. Now is the time for America to look inward, to look at the goals for an equal and just society, and to see the many ways in which achievements lag behind aspirations. Within the administration of the Relays, we pledge to push for broader inclusion and set as a goal that each participant athlete, coach, official, spectator experiences the Relays as a valuable family member. By looking inward, we will gain a better understanding of our outward actions and respond to the challenges in front of us. - The Penn Relays Dave Johnson, Frank Dolson Director of Penn Relays Gail Zachary, Assistant Director Joshua Seeherman, Meet Operations Manager Scott Ward, Executive Director
