You probably have heard of cyber criminals and maybe even malware, but online threats come in many shapes and sizes with some unusual names. Today, we want to introduce you to six online threats that you should be on the lookout for. 1. Worm - This is a dangerous self-replicating computer program which uses a computer network to send copies of itself to other computers on the same network. They almost always cause some sort of damage to a network.... 2. Spyware - The online threat that can also be potentially used as legitimate software. This threat monitors a user’s online activity and collects various personal info (internet surfing habits, etc.) in the background. 3. Malware - An all encompassing term for all malicious software that is installed without your consent. This includes viruses, worms and Trojan horses. 4. Phishing - If you have ever received an illegitimate email, you’ve been phished. This is a type of identity theft that occurs through email and websites, designed to steal your personal info or data. 5. Viruses - Harmful computer programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and interfere with computer operations. It can corrupt or delete the data on your computer. 6.
