Philadelphia Center for EFT 22.12.2020

We have some exciting things happening this winter! Check out this video to learn about them!

Philadelphia Center for EFT 20.12.2020

A colleague of many of ours, Dr. Feion Villodas, has started a Black EFT Community and we wanted you to know! If you are a Black or Brown EFTer and are interested in connecting with your Black or Brown EFT colleagues, please email her at [email protected]. There is a monthly meeting and Feion and her colleague, Dr. Zemed Berhe, are excellent at creating brave space (thank you Dr. Yamonte Cooper for the importance and emphasis on creating "brave space").

Have you been thinking about signing up for our exciting training with Dr. Ting Liu? There's still time! https://philadelphiacenterforeft.org//upcoming-training-s/ "Depression is a serious medical and psychological condition associated with symptoms such as melancholy, lack of pleasure, fatigue, loss of energy, difficulty concentrating, and/or suicidal thoughts. This mental health disorder affects 18 million Americans every year and takes an annual economic toll of over $1...00 billion from U.S. businesses. Since severe depression is one of the most common mental health disorders and affects 15-20% of the general population in their lifetimes it is also the number one reason clients seek help from psychotherapists. In this 6-hour workshop, Dr. Ting Liu will first present research evidence on effective treatments for depression across disciplines, followed by an in-depth discussion of evidence-based strategies to choose between Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) with couples or Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) with individuals. She will discuss treatment goals, the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) macro-intervention known as the EFT Tango, and effective interventions for couples and individuals who are diagnosed with depression, including clinical strategies to deal with therapeutic impasses with this challenging population."

Our friends in Tampa Bay are presenting this training on the EFT Tango. "This workshop is designed to give the clinician a firm grasp of the EFT Tango while also coming back to the lens of race as we notice ourselves and our clients. With the Tango as our guide, we can tackle all kinds of complexities, like issues of racialized trauma, misogyny, power and homophobia, and use our work to free people from oppressive internalized structures. We can explore together the question..., What does it mean to be anti-racist and how do I embody this in my work with individuals, couples, and families? With the EFT Tango we can be more oriented and confident. By providing simple guideposts for the clinician to ground ourselves, we are freed up to use more of ourselves in attunement and resonance. By looking through the lens of race, we will build awareness and stamina for seeing the way that race shapes experience." https://efttampabay.org/event/eft-virtual-master-class/ See more
