This child worked the entire week on completing the map of Europe! He began with completing the puzzle, and learning the names of countries. He then traced the map, and finally used oil pastels to visually color each country to match the Montessori map. This is a detailed work that incorporates many aspects of development- fine motor control, visual perception, language, art, and of course geography! What is most beautiful about this work is that the child chose it independently, and independently managed his time each day until he reached his desired completion. The look of accomplishment on his face is what intrinsic motivation looks like! #montessoriteachers #earlychildhoodeducation #montessorikids #philly #phillykids #phillyfamily

The trinomial cube builds on a child’s visual sense, and also provides for a concrete representation of the trinomial expansion. It is a three dimensional puzzle with a built in control of error, allowing the child to build toward mastery completely independently! #montessorichildren #phillyfamily #earlychildhoodeducation #montessoriteachers

We are so grateful for our incredible school community and neighbors of our community who came together to help with the @philabundance food drive! We collected over 6 boxes of food to feed those in need!! The lessons learned in this process were important and lasting- It feels good to be helpful!, and It makes my love light shine!
