As I stood there taking in the v...iew, I wondered who else stood in this very spot 100+ years ago. What did they look like? What was their life like? What were their beliefs at a time in our county when racism and sexism were the standard way of life? Did they believe in equality or did they work hard to preserve a way of life that only benefited them? Was it a slave who spent time each day peering out of this same window, wishing and praying for better days?
