Snowflakes make for great school days (as long as the roads stay clear). Snow falling in early December is always a bonus.
Pre-K at recess. Is this normal speed?
We are looking forward to when rehearsals can resume.
FALCON FRIDAY TOMORROW! Spirit-wear is encouraged every third Friday of the month. This includes t-shirts in blue, navy, black, white, gray, or any of our team/club sweatshirts or hoodies. This is the only time those items are allowed during regular school days.

The busiest gift purchasing time of the year has arrived, and we’d like you to keep in mind that purchases made online using Phil-Mont's Amazon link earn the school 4-8% of your purchase. You get Amazon’s best pricing and help Phil-Mont at the same time! http://bit.ly/phil_mont

Happy Thanksgiving to our Phil-Mont family!
Phil-Mont's Fall Sports Awards will take place on Friday, November 6 at 6:30 PM, physically distanced in the school gym. The event will also be live-stream on the school's YouTube channel. All our fall athletes are invited to attend with parents for individual awards and recognition. Check last week's News You Can Use for details.
Each year Phil-Mont commemorates Church History Week in recognition of Reformation Day. Reformation Day is observed on October 31st, the day Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany in 1517. Luther’s actions are seen by most historians as the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. As a part of Church History Week, the history department annually hosts an essay contest, open to all middle and high school students. A different topic... is chosen each year. This year, in recognition of the 100 year anniversary of the death of Dr. Abraham Kuyper, the famous Dutch theologian and statesman, essayists were asked to take Kuyper’s most well-known quote - There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: 'Mine!’ and relate it to this year’s chapel theme from Micah 6:8 - He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? This year’s winners were announced and the 1st place essays read in a special chapel video presented on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Winners from left, First Place HS Ben Ruby, Second Place HS Jeremy Franchois, Third Place MS Dakota Rennix, First Place MS Noah Dharmawirya. Not pictured, Second Place MS J.R. Della Rocca. We're thankful that our school was able to participate in Operation Christmas Child (OCC) again this year. This annual Christmas project has been a fantastic way for our students to get involved in the evangelism and discipleship of children all around the world, and we're glad that through in-person learning, we were able to carry it out again. Between the items brought in by the elementary students and the already gift-filled shoeboxes brought in by the middle and high scho...olers, we were able to assemble, collect, and donate 108 shoeboxes (29 from HS, 29 from MS, and 50 from elementary!) to OCC. That's about twenty more than last year! Thank you to all families who donated supplies, money for shipping, gift-filled shoeboxes, and time. Many thanks to the elementary teachers for their support and to the middle school service committee and the high school Interact Club for putting in extra time during collection week. It is truly more blessed to give than to receive! A few students accompanied Middle School Service Committee sponsor, Dr. Chi, to deliver all of the boxes to the drop-off earlier this week.
Can watch the concert tonight at 7 pm, live on Youtube, or watch the replay later - https://youtu.be/im8MAtGQCwo
We need some help on Monday morning to clear a field puddle in advance of the afternoon home game. Willing volunteers, please contact AD, Glenn Dolton ([email protected])
Each season we recognize our senior athletes (and their parents) as they get closer and closer to completing their high school education at Phil Mont. This year's recognition took place during the Fall Classic, our special, Saturday sports day. The event was hosted by our Atheltic Director, Glenn Dolton.
Falcon Friday tomorrow; students can wear any Phil-Mont themed Tops: Hoodies, t-shirts, or sports uniforms with regular uniform bottoms.

On a windy Thursday morning, the High School Concert Band migrated to the four square court to practice for the upcoming Fall Flourishes Concert. Binder clips and paper clips held music in place, for the most part, and stands were anchored by students' feet. Adjustments were made so that everyone could see and hear, and what do you know? Music was made! The neighbors who were out walking were entertained, and you will be as well if you join us on October 21 (see image)!
