On Wednesday evening Stations 223 & 227 were alerted for a single vehicle accident into a utility pole in the 6800 block of Alcoma Dr. 223EN & 227RQ arrived on scene to find an unoccupied single vehicle into a utility pole with live power lines down. Witnesses informed fire units that the occupant has fled on foot. It was later discovered that the vehicle has been reported stolen a short time prior to the accident. The roadway was closed for several hours while the utility company made repairs. Command: 223Captain Units: 223EN1, 223EN; 223SS, 227RQ, 227EN, PHPD, PHEMS

Halloween Update: Firefighters from 227 will be out in the 227 fire district handing out delicious Turner’s drinks. On Monday evening, Stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a vehicle rollover into a house in the 560-blk of Lougeay Rd. 227CHF arrived on scene and confirmed all occupants of the vehicle were out. 227EN & 227RQ arrived on scene and set up traffic control and lightning, additional members checked the house for damage. The driver of the vehicle was evaluated by PHEMS and later refused treatment. PHPD are investigating the cause of the accident. *This is the 3rd time this type of accident took place at this house. On Thursday evening Station 122 was alerted for a single vehicle accident with rollover one mile past the Penn Hills exit I-376. Additional reports putting the accident in the area of the 81.3 MM I-376 EB in Penn Hills, Station 227 was added to the call. Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle rollover with the driver outside of the vehicle. All units took a defensive position blocking the left two lanes. On Sunday evening while crews were standing by at the first accident, Stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a single vehicle accident with possible entrapment in the 400-blk of Rodi Rd. 227CHF arrived on scene with one patient still in the vehicle. 227RQ & 227EN arrived on scene and assisted with traffic control and lighting.
