Pier 87 Bar & Grill

Fall is officially here in Central PA and the leaves have begun to change. We are hoping the dry summer won't effect the colors too much and you can take a drive up Route 87 and see some beautiful views from a few Vistas. Smiths Knob Vista is a great hike and/or you can drive straight to High Knob Vista for some spectacular views. We are officially 50% inside which is helping with the cooler weather. We still have the porch, patio and tent(Large Parties) available for seat...ing. We have added heaters to the porch for your comfort. So come out and enjoy what we are hoping is an Indian Summer and stop by for a bite to eat or warm fall cocktail. ***We would like to thank all guest for their support throughout this summer. With you, we were able to enjoy a successful season and endure these difficult times. Thanks for your patience, understanding and kindness to our staff, as rules seemed to change on a weekly basis. ***Most of all, we want to give a huge shout-out and thanks to our staff. They adapted to change and embraced new policies and procedures without question. They served outside in extreme heat all summer, and tolerated hundreds of trips up and down the steps on a daily basis. They stuck with us in difficult times and together we are stronger for it. ***There is a chance we add music for the weekend, keeping an eye on temperatures and weather. So stay tune for some possible fall musical entertainment. ***Hatchet House will be here Friday Night to help entertain our guests. Celebrating Michael Carney - Thursday September 17th 5-8pm As our 8th Summer ends, we are both grateful and saddened at the same time, with the resignation of Michael Carney. We reopened after the flood in February 2013, and at that time welcomed a young man from the Big Apple to join our staff. He quickly made an impression with us and our guests. We made the proper decision in making him manager and have been successful ever since. Michael has been a mentor to our young... staff and has helped so many become successful young adults. Michael has been a friend to many and welcomed as family to many more. Michael has always put others and the Pier first. He has served many families and watched your children grow along the way. We have grown close together as a family with both loss of loved ones, and addition by marriage and birth of others. Words can not express our gratitude and love for Micheal. He will always have a home and a family in this valley and will be greatly missed. Feel free to stop by for refreshments on Thursday from 5 pm - 8pm and wish Michael well in his new endeavors back in Manhattan. See more

Here we are, Labor Day weekend, marking an end to an incredible and interesting summer. We have entertainment all weekend long. Although they say this marks the end of summer, the Pier will continue to offer outside dining until the snow flies and entertainment for the next few weekends. Oktoberfest is coming up in September and more live music. We will be closed on Labor Day Monday September 7th, to give our fantastic employees a day of rest and time with their families. Pl...ease see below for this weeks entertainment. ***Friday & Saturday nights the Hatchet House will offer everyone loads of fun. They will be set up in our parking lot each evening to test your skills or teach you the art of Axe Throwing. ***Friday 8-10pm - Doc & Gregie will join us on the main stage. ***Saturday 8-10pm - Rapid Run Band will make their first appearance on our stage. ***Sunday - The Frank Wicher Band will play at 6pm in the tent. Labor day is very near, signaling the end of summer. But we are not done yet. We have a great lineup of entertainment this week. See the times below. If you just want to stop out for a cold adult beverage, you can get it anytime without the need to purchase food. You can order a take-out beer or cocktail from the tiki bar and enjoy it in any of our sandy areas! Weather this week has been incredible with plenty of Sunshine and low humidity. We hope to continue that throughout this weekend with lots on our entertainment agenda. You may relax at t high-top table or chair and just sip your favorite beverage. The tiki bar opens at 11am daily.
