For many, it’s the unofficial kick-off of summer, signaled by backyard barbecues & family get togethers, pool openings & parades. Growing up in my small hometown south of the Mason Dixon, the parade was everything. And everyone marched in it, including all of the schoolchildren, often wearing white, & carrying flowers to the graves of the ...soldiers laid to rest in the national cemetery at the end of the route. Because of their ultimate sacrifices, we have so much to be grateful for & celebrate today, in America the Beautiful.
