The SPST Pirates closed the season by winning the "Tough it Out" Tournament, beating host All Out Pack 4-2 in the championship game. Jimmy Snyder was magnificent, striking out 17 of a possible 18 and surrendering just 2 hits in the complete game victory. In the semifinal game earlier in the day, the Pirates advanced after surviving a last inning comeback by the Delaware Diamond Kings, prevailing 6-5.... In that game, George Squilla tossed a complete game gem, striking out 7 and scattering just 5 hits. The stellar outings were supported offensively by Snyder's 3 hits on the day. Vincent Allegretto, Nick Loggia and Joe Falck added 2 hits a piece. Nick Foschini crosses the plate 3 times for the winners. The Pirates, thankful for the opportunity to get the 2020 season in, finished 16-5-3, including this group's first tourney championship! Go Pirates....arrrggghhhh!!!!!

The SPST Pirates went 1-1 on the first day of the "Tough it Out" Tournament in East Greenwich, NJ. The Pirates lost the first game to All Out Pack, 14-8 before bouncing back to handle Delaware Diamond Kong's 12-5. Jimmy Snyder collected 5 hits and 4 RBI's while Nick Loggia added 3 hits and 4 RBI's.... Vincent Allegretto earned the win in game 2, striking out 7 in 3+ innings. The Pirates earned the 2 seed in Sunday's knock out round where they'll face Delaware at 9am. A win would earn them a spot in the 1pm championship game. Go Pirates....arrrrgggghh!!!'

The SPST Pirates went 2-2 over the weekend in the Legends Fall Back Frenzy baseball tournament in Sewell, NJ this past weekend. It started with a convincing 13-8 win over All Out Pack, before surrendering 9 runs in the 5th inning to fall 12-3 to MA Show. Sunday’s quarterfinal was a classic as the Pirates battled back from separate deficits of 4 and 3 runs to win 12-11 on a steal of home in the bottom of the 6th. ... The afternoon’s semi-final was a heartbreaker, losing 6-5 to Sandlot who, at 17-3, are one of the best 9u teams in the tri-state area. The pirates offense was lead by Jimmy Snyder who collected 8 hits and drove in 5 runs over the weekend. Nick Loggia and Luca Allizzo each added 6 hits while Joe Falck knocked in 4 runs. Jimmy Snyder and Vincent Allegretto each earned wins, striking out 8 and 6 respectively. For the Pirates it was an excellent weekend, collecting 2 wins in a tournament for the first time, and doing so against top competition. The Pirates turn their focus back to league play where they will, as the 3rd seed, open the playoffs this Saturday at 2pm when they host Egg Harbor Township. The playoffs are single elimination. The two teams split during the regular season. Come on out and support the boys! Go Pirates....arrrgggghhhjj!!!!

The SPST Pirates finished 1-0-1 in Saturday’s doubleheader, tying All Out Pack 8-8’in the first game before a come from behind 11-7 win vs the SJ Rams. The Pirates lead the Pack 5-0 behind 2 strong, 6 K innings from Jimmy Snyder but needed a game tying run in the 6th to preserve the tie. Nick Foschini lead the offense with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s while Snyder and Luca Allizzo each added 2 hits and an RBI.... Contrary to the first game, the Pirates fell behind early before battling back. The charge was lead by Vincent Allegretto, Jimmy Snyder, George Squilla and Luca Allizzo each of whom had 2 hits and combined for 9 RBI’s. With one game left in the regular season, the Pirates are 11-1-3 Go Pirates....arrrghhh!!!

The SPST Pirates won their 5th straight Friday night, cruising to a 14-4 win over Millville to avenge a tie last month. The Pirates shot out to a 4-0 lead in the first and never looked back. Jimmy Snyder and Nino Beaudry each had two hits and 3 RBI’s. Luca Allizzo also knocked in 3 for the winners. Nick Loggia and George Squilla combined to yield no hits while striking out 8 over the final 3 2/3 innings. ... The Pirates, now 10-1-2, are off until next Saturday when the host a double dip in South Philly. Go Pirates......arrrrgggghhhj!!!

In a much anticipated battle of 1 loss teams, the SPST Pirates defeated the Harrison Heat 9-4. With the Pirates leading 2-1 in the second, Nino Beaudry smashed a bases loaded double that drove in 3 of his 4 runs on the evening. From there the Pirates never trailed, relying on timely hitting as 5 other players each knocked in a run.... Defensively, the Pirates survived 14 Bases on balls as Jimmy Snyder, George Squilla & Nick Foschini combined to yield just 1 run over 5 innings. The Pirates sealed the game in the top of the last with the help of catcher Phil Girardi who gunned down 2 runners at 3rd attempting to steal. The Pirates, 9-1-2, host Millville at 7pm this Friday. Go Pirates.....arrrrggghhhh!!!!

The SPST Pirates defeated the Glendora Thunder 11-5 Thursday evening. Since losing their first game of the year, the Pirates (8-1-2) have won 3 in a row while out scoring their opponents 41-13 during that stretch. The Pirates benefited from 15 free passes issued by the Thunder. Jimmy Snyder, Nino Beaudry, Nick Loggia, Joe Fareri & Joe Falck all drove in 2 runs for the winners. Next up is a much anticipated showdown with the 9-1 Harrison Heat next Wednesday in Mullica Hill. ... Go Pirates....arggghhh!!!!

The SPST Pirates turned in their most complete performance of the season, defeating the Audubon Bombers 12-4. Nino Beaudry had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs, while Joe Falck went 2-2, also knocking in 2. Vincent Allegretto reached base in all 4 appearances, adding 2 RBI’s. The defense was stout, with many standout plays. Nick Foschini, George Squilla & Beaudry combined to yield just 2 runs over the final 4+ innings.... The Pirates (7-1-2) are back at it tomorrow night when they travel to Glendora. Go Pirates....arrrrgggghhhh!!!

The offensive explosion was lead by Vincent Allegretto, Jimmy Snyder, Nino Beaudry & Phil Girardi who combined for 9 hits and 13 RBI's. Joe Fareri added a 2 RBI triple for the winners, now 6-1-2. After a shaky first inning, the defense settled, as Nick Foschini, Allegretto & Beaudry combined to allow just 1 hit while striking out 9 over the ...final 4 innings. The Pirates are off until next weds when they'll travel to Audobon, a team they tied earlier this month. Go Pirates....arrrggghhh!!!

The SPST Pirates unbeaten start ended last night at the hands of Egg Harbor Township, 5-4. After opening a 4 run lead the bats were silenced, as EHT rallied to win it on a bases loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the 6th. Nino Beaudry lead the offense with 2 hits while Nick Loggia reached base 3 times. ... Despite the loss, Loggia, George Squilla & Jimmy Snyder combined to yield just 2 hits. The Pirates, now 5-1-2, are eager to get back at it on Tuesday at Seneca. Go Pirates....arrrrggghh!!

Coming off a 3 week layoff, the road warrior Pirates fought to a 4-4 tie at Millville. It was the second tie in 3 games for the Pirates who remained undefeated at 5-0-2. The Pirates built a 3-0 lead, but entering the final inning, Millville had caught up. The Pirates retook the lead on an RBI single by Phil Girardi. They were a strike away from escaping with a win before Millville tied it with a clutch double. A gritty and gutsy George Squilla then struck out the home team's ...#3 hitter to preserve the tie. Girardi powered the offense going 3-3 w/ two RBI's. Nick Loggia, Jimmy Snyder & Squilla combined to give up just 5 hits while striking out 10. The Pirates are back in action this Sunday @ Egg Harbor Township. Go Pirates....Arghhhhh!!

Nick Foschini, Joe Fareri & Joe Falck knocked home the remaining runs for the Pirates who remain unbeaten, improving to 5-0-1. The SPST Pirates battled Audubon to an 8-8 tie this evening. The Pirates found themselves trailing 8-1 after 2 innings due to an uncharacteristic defense and some timely hitting by the Bombers. The ever resilient Pirates (4-0-1) battled back to tie the game at 8 behind 2 RBI's from Jimmy Snyder and 2 hits from Nick Loggia.... The game ended in dramatic fashion, as with the bases loaded and one out, Nick Foschini speared a line drive and threw to a heads up Nino Beaudry at 3rd for the double play to end the game and preserve the tie. After giving up 8 runs in the first 2 innings, Snyder and Vincent Allegretto combined for 3 scoreless innings. The Pirates are back in action tomorrow night at the SJ Rams in Pine Hill. Stay humble, stay hungry and go Pirates...arrggghhhh!!!!

The SPST Pirates 8u were washed out weds at Audubon. The game will be made up next Tuesday, 7/28, at 6pm. Next the Pirates take their 3-0 mark to the shore, with a game Sunday at 5pm at Egg Harbor Township.

The SPST Pirates 8u made it 3 in a row to start the season with a thrilling 8-7 victory over Washington Twp Blue. Clinging to a 1 run lead in the bottom of the last, Nick Foschini tug a retreating runner out at second on an assist from Vincent Allegretto for the second out. That set the stage for a game ending, fully extended , backhand catch off of a line shot by Nick Loggia. Offensively Joe Falck whacked a two run double, while Loggia and Phil Girardi each scored twice. ... No time to celebrate as the Pirates are back in action tomorrow night at the Audubon Bombers. Thank you to talented Wash Twp squad for hosting us. Go Pirates....arrrggghh!!!

Vincent Allegretto reached base all four times, adding four RBI's Behind stellar defense, Nick Loggia, Snyder, Phil Girardi and Nino Beaudry combined on a one hitter. ... The Pirates travel back to Washington Twp next Tuesday to face the Blue team. We thank the young and up and coming Red squad for hosting us and wish them luck moving forward. Go Pirates...Arghhhh!!

The SPST Pirates 8U still held off SJ Warriors for a 7-6 victory on Wednesday in the opening game of the season. The Pirates build a 6-0 behind two strong, scoreless inning from Nick Loggia Offensively, Nick Foschini led the way by going 3-3 and scoring 3 times. Jimmy Snyder & George Squilla reached base in all 4 plate appearances, both knocking in 2 runs. Nino Beaudry walked 3 times and scored a run for the winners... We thank the talented, resilient SJ Warriors for hosting us and wish them luck in their tournament this weekend. The Pirates are back in action next weds at Washington Twp. Go Pirates...arggghhh!

In a tune up before the opener the 8u SPST Pirates defeated the Legends Black 13-5. Jimmy Snyder, Vincent Allegretto and Phil Girardi all had multi-hit games. The offense was highlighted by a Snyder blast off the top of the left center field fence. Nick Loggia, George Squilla, Nick Foschini & Allegretto all pitched a scoreless inning. A defensive gem was turned in by Girardi who took certain extra bases away with a diving catch in center field. The defending 7u champs open the season next Wednesday at 7p at the SJ Warriors. Go Pirates!!

Our 2020 regular season starts next Wednesday. Practice next Tuesday at Marconi.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I booked our first fund raising event. I talked to Vince over the weekend and the team needs to start getting some funds in. So mark you calendars for October 7th. It's a Monday, and Moonshine bar and restaurant has graciously invited us in to have a bite to eat and drinks at their place. We get a 20% of the register for the entire day food and liqueur. This will be a good way to kick off the 8u season. The more people you bring... or get there, the more the team makes. So I will over the weekend make a Facebook event for people to share and spread the word. Also will be making up some flyers to post around DV field since fallball will be getting started. Push this event my new years club brings in a good amount of money from this event. Some places give you a time frame, this place gives us the whole day. Believe they open at noon and close at midnight. If you have any questions please ask me and not the coaches they have enough on their plate. Also I will be posting the number they do take reservations I believe on charity days like this. Also please don't pay with a gift card if you have it, cash or credit card. They can't donate because of the deals they do with the GC. Thanks again.
