Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Yesterday (Thursday), the Congregation Council discussed the Mask Policy for the Congregation moving forward. With the recent changes in the CDC guidelines, we recognize that our policy will need to change. With this in mind, for this week, we must be mindful that the Preschool still must require masks for their teachers and students and anyone visiting the building during the school year. So, the Council has decided to continue to as...k you to wear a mask in worship inside the building FOR THIS WEEKEND. Beginning Sunday, May 30, 2021, in keeping with the new CDC guidelines, we will institute an "Optional Mask Policy" for those who are fully vaccinated. This means that it will be your choice to wear a mask when you are inside the building. If you are are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you be respectful of others and wear a mask while in the building. With the optional policy, we ask that if you are wearing a mask that you be respectful of those who choose not to and if you do not feel comfortable sitting near someone who is not wearing a mask that you move to a place that provides you the security that you wish to have. At the same time, if you choose to not wear a mask, please respect the choice of those who choose to wear a mask and not tell them to take their mask off or inform them of the CDC guidelines. Our goal is to respect each other and the choices that we each make. You will still be asked to sit with social distancing in mind as we have done from the beginning of the pandemic. Throughout the pandemic, you have done an amazing job of wearing masks and sitting with space in between each of you. You have made my job easier in finding ways to protect you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This has been a gift to me and to each other. This is another step in getting back to normalcy in our worship. We will be back worshipping in the sanctuary this Sunday. The work on the furnace is complete. The heater in the Gathering Space still needs to be installed and the AC unit will be installed in the next few weeks.
