It is hard to believe that a year has gone by since this momentuous day in my life. It was a day of such joy for me, but the real joy has been becoming a member of the Wilson family. While this is not quite the first year I envisioned, I am honored every day to serve as Wilson College's 20th president and to help our faculty and staff tranform the lives of Wilson's students.
Our faculty continue to think about ways to meet the needs of today’s students. They have been working hard on some curricular changes, including these three new majors. And, as always, we will deliver these new majors through the lens of the liberal arts, the very best preparation for entering the workplace according to study after study of CEOs. Come join us at Wilson!
Wilson is a place that loves animals. Perhaps you'd like to get to know the lady that rules my life...the first pet of Wilson, Miss Scarlett! http://mag.wilson.edu/scarletts-letter/
Happy first day of fall! #OneWilson
I continue to enjoy learning about our community here in Chambersburg and the surrounding region. Today I visited a sunflower field. How beautiful and peaceful!
Today we pay tribute to the service of Ruth Bader Ginsburg to our country. Irrespective of one’s legal ideology, as a former women’s college, we celebrate Justice Ginsburg’s passion and advocacy for women’s equality. She has advanced the cause of women, and the world is a better place when equality abounds. Thank you for your contributions. Rest In Peace.
Paying tribute during Sarah Wilson Week to the woman whose philanthropy made Wilson College possible. Sarah Wilson began a legacy of Wilson Women, alumni, and friends making a difference in the lives of students through their gifts. During this week, our students would normally visit her grave to honor her. Since they are not here, I did it for them. Thank you, Sarah.
When asked during my interview why I wanted to become the 20th president of Wilson College, I noted my passion for its honor principle. Today I formally signed that honor principle, joining thousands of women and men before me who have studied, taught, worked, or led at Wilson. It was an awesome moment. I am so honored to serve, and I wake up every day thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this remarkable community. #OneWilson
Don't you just love a Wilson Blue bow tie? I know I do! Happy National Bow Tie Day!
Wishing our students, faculty, and staff a wonderful fall semester! Happy first day! #OneWilson
As we prepare to begin our new academic year on Monday, no matter where you are, let me remind you: #PhoenixWearMasks. Be well and be safe! #OneWilson
Today is the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. Wilson College is proud of our alumnae who worked toward this important moment in our nation's history. Hannah Patterson, Wilson College Class of 1901, was the first chair of the Pennsylvania Women’s Suffrage Party from 1912-1915 and the secretary of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1916. Wilson remains an institution dedicated to lifting up the voice of women, and we celebrate the anniversary of this historic occassion. Let us continue to be bold as we fight for equality for all people. #BoldyWilson
So proud of all the hard work our faculty are putting into our virtual semester. Thank you! #OneWilson
