BEGINNING THIS SUNDAY at 9:15AM! Social Justice Theory and the Bible, by Rev. Dr. Ray E. Heiple Jr. Is truth something we find or something we make? Is knowledge discovered or created? Is society made up of oppressors and oppressed or believers and unbelievers? Should justice be blind or should she treat people differently according to their chosen identities? Should we be individually judged or should we be judged according to our group? Should science and reason be replaced... by experience and emotion? Is language violence? Are all whites racist? Is it wrong to cook Chinese food if you are not Chinese? Is it a kind of genocide to try to cure disabilities? Is it hate to say obesity is unhealthy? These are some of the questions that are being asked across our country as a movement called Social Justice Theory, Critical Theory, or just Theory is sweeping through all levels of our society, including the church. What does the Bible say about these things and how can we continue to be a faithful church in the face of them? Please come to this class in the new sanctuary as we look at Theory in the light of Scripture. ** We will be live streaming the Sunday school class as well as worship at 10:30AM
