Every other wee...k, we hope to share a brief interview with a staff member that helps our hospital provide the best possible care for our patients. Say hello to Leyra, one of our Certified Medical Assistants in our outpatient clinic How long have you worked at the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital? I’ve been here just shy of a year. What is your favorite part of your job / day? I love working with the spine and cerebral palsy patients. But as we all know, all the children in the clinic are amazing. How would you spend your perfect day off? On my perfect day off, I like to spend time with my grandkids. Tell us something that may surprise us about you. I surprise many people by the fact that I have seven beautiful chickens. I had always wanted to raise chickens, and one day my daughter bought chicks from a farm in Lancaster as a surprise for me. We've fallen in love with them

It’s been a challenging year and our hopes and prayers to all for a far better year in 2021. Happy New Year to all.

Today’s Walk for Love raised over $181,000 for our Philly Hospital. Thank you to everyone who generously supported Team Rajah and for sponsoring our Patient Ambassador, Lincoln. It was a great day at the zoo and Lincoln enjoyed seeking out Shriners from other temples so he could give them our Potentate’s pin.

Good Luck superstitions; not just for fisherman. Pickup your lucky sauerkraut for New Year’s supper, one taste and you’ll be hooked - proceeds benefit the Rajah Anglers. Awesome job Rajah! Going into tomorrow’s WALK FOR LOVE our team is leading in all categories on the Philly Hospital’s Board of Governors Team.
