Hello all. We've been pretty quiet for the last couple of months due to the fact I've been recovering from serious foot surgery and infection due to my diabetes. I've been in the hospital since July 17 and rehab since August 19 still working on recovering, but things are progressing We had made arrangements to host Mark and Crystals Civil War wedding and reception for 90 people before my problem, and I have to say that my wife Gail, my rock, took care of everything while I...'ve been laid up. Please see Mark and Crystal's comments in the visitors posts This type of thing is just one of the types of Special Events were will be offering I'm still recovering but please keep us in mind if you are coming to Gettysburg. Send us a message for future requests so we can respond accordingly I hope you enjoy the picture we're posting of that special day!
Stop by July 1st, 2nd or 3rd. The Officers and Ladies of the Union will be there to provide some education, Lynn Light Heller will have her wonderfull photographs on display and for sale, and Scoot Mingus will be among a number of authors signing books during the 3 days. Also, it will be an opportunity to do a walk through Red Patch Bed and Breakfast and take a look at the home of Gen, Charles H.T. Collis of the 114th PA - Collis' Zouaves, an awardee of the Medal of Honor. Please come by.
Say hello to Abigail. At 10 years old, she is the youngest living historian to have stayed here at Red Patch. Also known as "Joe Pierce" of the 14th Connectic...ut, one of only a couple of Chinese known to be at the Battle of Gettysburg. Originally sold to a Sea Captain from Connecticut but raised by him as family. He came from the same area of China as did Abigail. Great to see such enthusiasim in history from someone so young. Kudos to her parents and family for encouraging her. :) See more

Tis the season for Holiday and Winter savings. Check us out for holiday specials and gifts. This was 2013 - weather a bit more snowy. :)
From Mark Littier (former gust) My girlfriend and I stayed at Red Patch a few weeks ago and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Gail and Sal were amazing hosts and were very knowledgeable about both the area and history. One of the highlights from our trip was hearing the different stories over breakfast. I am absolutely recommending Red Patch to all of my family and friends for their Gettysburg trips. Thank you, Gail and Sal, for hosting us! I also wanted to upload a picture from our trip. We went at the end of October, so the exterior shot is from the fall. And of course, we couldn't forget our friend, Rover, who was an absolute sweetheart!
Call us regarding our Winter Holiday Specials!!!
Super event last night at Red Patch Bed and Breakfast. We celebrated the 197th birthday of General Dan Sickles. The 5th Excelsior award was presented to Ranger;Historian John Heiser in the tree room. The consumption of Brandy and Cigars, both Sickles favorites, was the themeof the night. Many thanks to organizers Jim, Chris and George. Many stories and discussions of history were told last evening. More pictures will follow.
This is a pre-election vote at Red Patch Bed & Breakfast! Whatever you political point of view, we are looking for your vote. We are getting ready to put up our sign and are down to 2 different choices. One circular and one rectangular. We'd like you to tell us which one you prefer. From those that choose the style we end up with, we will draw a name and the winner will win a free 1 night stay here at Red Patch for 2 people including breakfast, subject to availability. Now's you chance to vote - circle or rectangle!!! This is a non political event :)
