Does anyone know what might have happened to this plaque? I last saw it around 1977 on a side exterior wall of Rehobeth. Does anyone know if the demolition crew made any effort to preserve this?

I just finished reading "Fair Wilderness" by Marion Eames, a fictionalized account of the first Quakers to arrive in 'the Welsh Tract'. If you can find a copy, I highly recommend it. (I got a used copy online). Rowland Ellis is featured, the Quaker who named his Pennsylvania home Bryn Mawr, after his home in Wales. Rowland Ellis sailed over on the ship, The Amity, in 1686- a long 13 month voyage that stopped in Barbados first. The journey seems likely the same time and ship ...that Lewis Walker came on. If you've read Priscilla Walker Street's book on Lewis Walker, you may have seen that Rowland Ellis is one of the witness names for Lewis wedding to Mary Morris. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how it brings our Quaker history to life. Ms. Eames also wrote another book, a prequel called "The Secret Room" about persecution in Wales prior to emigration to America. Also excellent (a little Harlequin Romance-ish at times, but mostly full of historical relevance).
