Today at 4:30 pm, Engine 901 was dispatched to Route 741 for a crash with entrapment. Engine 901 and Rescue 905 extricated the patient. Crews cleared about an hour.later

This evening Engine 901 ran several Automatic Alarms in the Brunswick Farms community. Engine 905 assisted with the first alarm. Afterwards, a crew of 9 staffed the station while a Mass Casualty incident was working a few districts away.

Congratulations to Firefighter Eli Jacobs on completing his SCBA review. Firefighter Jacobs is now qualified to participate in interior firefighting operations. Eli leaves for basic training at Fort Jackson next month, thank you for serving both your community and your country.

Today firefighters took the opportunity to train on water supply operations. An exterior firefighter got signed off on hydrant operations and a new driver/operator worked on his water supply skills. We also put the Engine through it’s paces at Station 5’s pump pit.

This evening at 6:30pm Engine 901 was dispatched to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Chief 901 and Engine 901 arrived and found a downed rider. The crew from Engine1 assisted with care of the rider, and cleared shortly after.

Tuesday July 7th at 9:21 AM, Engine 901 was dispatched as part of a second alarm to Blue Lane for a barn fire, which extended to a house. Engine 901 was assigned to assist Engine 905 establishing a dump site for Tankers. Engine 901 was on scene for over 5 hours.

This afternoon crews took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to work on pump drills with a prospective driver/operator. Firefighters worked on initial attack line operations and obtaining a water supply from a hydrant.

After truck inspection this evening members took the time to construct a Crosslay Training prop. This prop is constructed to the same height as the crosslays on Engine 901 containing 200’ of 1 3/4 hose. This will enable firefighters staffing the Station to train on pulling crosslays without the need to pull out or remove hose from the Engine. Special thanks to Firefighter Ethan Pickel for spearheading the project and Firefighter James Leed for his carpentry skills.

Crews are currently working in the 600 block of Wyncroft Ln in Lancaster Township on a working apartment fire. Additional water supply operations has the entrance to the Kensington Club Apartments currently shut down. Engine 901 has split their crew, with 3 members working on the fire scene and 2 members tending to the engine in the water supply operation.

This evening Engine 901 was dispatched to the intersection of Colonial Manor Dr. And Valley Forge Rd for a vehicle accident with entrapment: car into a sinkhole. Engine 901 arrived to find a car with a tire sunk into the road upto the axle. Everyone was out of the vehicle unhurt. Engine 901 remained in scene until the car was safely on the tow truck. Lt. 901 had command.

Crews gathered for training Monday evening. They covered both use and operation of our pneumatic tools and air bags. Crews also conducted drills covering lifting operations of passenger vehicles. Engine 901 carries various sized lifting bags totaling over 120 tons.
