Contact us to work with Nathaniel! 610-908-5668 [email protected] or FB message "Nathaniel ...Hawk is a top tier pianist from Bethlehem Pennsylvania currently working throughout the Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Lehigh Valley areas. Hawk is an incredibly diverse pianist, first being rigorously trained at the Lehigh Valley Charter Arts High School in classical technique and theory. Hawk is also one of the youngest premier jazz pianists playing in the Philadelphia music scene. Receiving his B.A. is Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in 2018, Hawk studied with pianists Tom Lawton, Don Glanden, and Tim Brey in addition to taking classes and playing in ensembles led by John Swana, Josh Lawrence, Matt Davis, and Randy Kapralick. Nathaniel Hawk is featured on several professional recordings including the Alex Delcourt Quintet which is an ensemble of outstanding young musicians from the Philadelphia area, two albums have been released containing all original music, The French Quarter and To My Brothers Hawk is also the keyboardist in a 7 piece funk/fusion band, Wack Cheddar, known to play throughout the tri-state area at venues and festivals including Rockwood Music Hall, The Barnes Foundation, Musikfest, and World Café Live. Hawk is also found playing on occasion with the Norman David Eleventet, a large jazz ensemble that showcases some of the brightest talent in Philadelphia, lead by saxophonist, composer, and arranger Norman David. Nathaniel Hawk is also the leader of his own project called Hawk Quartet, a four piece instrumental group with piano, guitar, drums and bass, playing original compositions by Hawk and other band members. Hawk Quartet has brought music to various venues and festivals throughout the area including Musikfest, Chris’ Jazz Café, and The Bookstore Speakeasy. In 2016 Hawk was selected to attend the Boysie Lowry Jazz Residency in Wilmington DE, an intensive collaboration workshop among young musicians from across the country. This residency gave Hawk the opportunity to study with Aaron Parks, Ben Schachter, Ari Hoenig, and Mike Boone. As an educator Nathaniel Hawk is one of the most understanding and personalized piano instructors. Private lessons include ear training, improvisation, composition, music history and of course performance techniques in all styles from classical and jazz to contemporary styles like funk/pop/r&b/rock. Hawk is also found educating through the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts where he is a Teaching Artist, providing music education to children at Title I schools throughout the Philadelphia Area."
