Many people love coming to Riddle Village every spring to see our beautiful community in bloom. Unfortunately, this year we were unable to have visitors to explore the community and take in all the beautiful sights. Luckily, one of our residents filmed his walks around our community and was able to capture the beautiful nature that makes Riddle Village such a breathtaking place to call home. Last week's Freedom Putting Tournament was a huge success, with residents competing for two days leading up to a championship round for both men and women! We were even able to celebrate a special 96th birthday for the women's winner! Thank you to all of our residents for making this a fun and safe event. We are looking forward to kicking off our next competition tonight, the Everyone Counts Bocce Tournament! #LifeAtRV

The Governour's Inne and Chesapeake Room were named the Bronze Winner in the 12th annual Remodel/Renovation Competition sponsored by Environments for Aging! This renovation included a redesign of the dining venues and the elevator lobby to create an open space for residents and visitors to enjoy meals and to socialize. We are so proud of this project and thankful to the teams at Bernardon and Construction Services Group for bringing our vision to life!

We are so excited to announce that the Governour’s Inne and Chesapeake Room dining renovations placed third as a Bronze Winner in the Environments for Aging Remodel/Renovation Competition. Environments for Aging is the industry’s best source of information on the latest design trends for senior living communities that deliver person-centered, residential environments. Riddle Village was submitted into a national competition in which a panel of experts, appointed by SAGE - Soc...iety for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments, reviewed all submissions and determined the winners. The renovation achieved not only the wow factor, but the design team did a wonderful job of breaking up the seating groups. It is difficult not to look at these projects through the social distancing lenses, and this project does a good job creating flexibility for the residents to have some barriers. The theme of Contemporary Colonial is well executed with interior design, color scheme, and furnishing. Riddle Village will be recognized at the Environments for Aging Expo & Conference in Tennessee next year and in the Fall 2020 issue of the Environments for Aging magazine! Thank you so much to our design team at Bernardon for helping us to create a dining experience that honors our traditional style while also offering new décor and features to keep our restaurants fresh for our residents. Exercise at Riddle Village is not just about health and wellness - it's also a fun opportunity for socialization! We are so happy to be able to offer our residents daily classes with our Fitness Coordinator. With safety guidelines and social distancing in effect, residents have been safely enjoying working up a sweat in the fresh air with their neighbors! #LifeAtRV

Riddle Village employees wanted to show their appreciation to the residents for their patience, encouragement and kind words. The staff walked around campus with a band, displaying messages on poster boards and waving to our wonderful residents.
