Did you know that as of 2019 there were nearly 130,000 homes in the United States that burn coal for heat? 63,000 of those homes are in Pennsylvania. As late a...s 2005, 4,000 homes in the United States also used coal as the primary cooking fuel. We thought you would like to know that the Anthracite Heritage Museum uses anthracite coal as its primary heat source. We heat the roughly 30,000 square foot museum with two anthracite boilers each winter and use around 45 tons of coal. Does anyone else still use coal to heat or cook with?
