Our Summer Reading Program has different groups, depending on the age of your child. The Bunnies ( B ) are Pre-K, the Turtles (T) are grades 1-3, the Chameleons (C) are grades 4-6, and the Panthers (P) are grades 7-12. Our first fun event is CREEK CRITTERS and it is on July 7 from 6pm-8pm. The grade levels for this event are Turtles and Chameleons and RSVP is required (you can call the library at 814-763-5203) since there is a limit of 25 attendees. Come listen to the book Cr...eek Critters and then explore all the mysterious critters that live part or all of their lives underwater in streams and rivers. Creek shoes are recommended, towel, and dry clothes might be a great idea as they will more than likely get wet exploring! Depending on water levels, this event will be held at Stainbrook Park or Bossard Nature Trail and we will let you know closer to the event. See more
Meet the Newest Member of our Librarian Team: Cara Doubet Cara Doubet started as a Librarian at the SAL on May 1, 2021. However, before this she was no stranger to the library, coming to visit once or twice a month for quiet "me time." Cara is a busy mother of three and now that she is a Librarian at the SAL, she looks forward to her calm working environment. Cara's favorite genre is Sci-Fi but also has a soft spot for Romance. Her favorite authors are Isaac Asimov and Jane Austen and enjoys re-reading books by the latter author. She has recently discovered a new favorite series called "Folk of the Air" by Holly Black and can be seen enjoying them in the photo.
We offer more than just books to check out here at SAL!
