It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the funeral arrangements for one of our beloved students, Tyler Norton. Tyler will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. In his short life, he made such a large impact on our school. His loss is devastating to our school community. During this very difficult and tragic time, we are blessed to be able to turn to our faith. This past Tuesday, his classmates and faculty members gathered together for a Mass in memory ...of Tyler and his family who passed away early Monday morning. Attached is the funeral service information for Joe, Bernadette, and Tyler Norton. Please join us in prayer for the repose of the souls of this beautiful family.
Happy Father’s Day to all our wonderful Dads in our incredible Saint Aloysius Community and Family! Enjoy this sweet performance by our 1st Grade students dedicated to their dads!! https://youtu.be/JcNX3rpOZXE
During Art class this week.... Students in 2nd Grade created "Winter Polar Bear Looms", then explored paper weaving, leaving their bears with colorful sweaters to wear during these very cold days! With Presidents' Day approaching, Kindergarten drew our 16th President; Abraham Lincoln. They honed their drawing skills while also building their listening skills, following directions, eye hand coordination and confidence! Honestly having so much fun!... The students in 1st Grade had fun this week drawing portraits of President George Washington. They learned that he didn't wear a white wig, which was the popular style at the time, but rather, kept his own hair and powdered it to give it the iconic white color in his famous portraits! PreK4 students also celebrated Presidents' Day this week in art with their "Abe Lincoln Shapes". Students identified shapes as they constructed their piece of art. They recognize Lincoln's iconic tall rectangular shaped hat. They also had fun adding long rectangular whiskers to his chin.
The 7th Grade students finalized their ladder illustrating the events leading to the Revolutionary War. They competed for the most detailed summaries of each event and the winners were posted on the ladder. Some students even took extra time to create illustrations depicting each event. Seventh grade also practiced with the concept of propaganda by drawing promotional art to join the Sons/Daughters of Liberty.
Catholic School’s Week comes to a close with some FUN BINGO, dress down day for K-8th, & dress-up day for the Pre-Ks!!
The second graders used Google Slides in Tech Class to make Valentine cards for their favorite teacher, Miss Moser!
We continue our Catholic School’s Week cerebration with Pajama Day! As usual, our students were eager to show their spirit!!
This week, students in grades kindergarten through eight participated in hour of code. Mrs. Cunningham taught students different coding skills. Students were then able to practice and create!
It was Christmas Spirit Week in Pre-K3! They wore Christmas hats, Frozen shirts, Christmas sweaters & socks. A little surprise snow also made their week special!
Second grade has been very busy!! They created their project with Mrs. Laz for the Christmas Show recording, practiced this week’s spelling words on their whiteboards, and practiced reading comprehension. They also finished reviewing their last letters in print ...which means they will now start to learn cursive!! Keep working hard, Second Grade!
Today in ELA, 7th Grade talked about how each snowflake is unique. They picked names out of a bag and wrote unique qualities about that person. Virtual students were able to do the exact same thing! Everyone was involved which was really nice! In Social Studies, they are beginning to create a ladder of events leading up to the Revolutionary War. The students chose the color and the angry eyes because our colonies were angry with Great Britain!
Today, our 6th Grade lead the Mass for the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception. Father Francesco explained to our students how the Blessed Virgin Mary has been free of original sin from the moment of her conception. Great job Mrs. Lorenz and the 6th Grade Class!
