The pantry had an incredible day yesterday and were blessed with items another organization donated to us to share with those in need. We always walk away with some disappointment when we are not able to meet the needs of everyone. We also leave knowing we are incredible blessed, thankful, and grateful for all those who think of us throughout the year and enable us to do what we can. The pantry will be closed until the New Year. May your 2021 be filled with love, laughter, prosperity, and grace. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The program can help eligible households struggling with heating bi...lls by providing a one-time cash payment directly to the utility company or fuel provider. Grants range from $200 to $1,000, depending on household size, income and fuel type. Eligible residents at risk of having their heating service terminated may also qualify for crisis grants of up to $800. A reminder for those that have Thanksgiving tickets, TOMORROW, November 9 is distribution. We have given all our tickets away for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Clothing closet will be opened too.

The pantry has been affected by Covid, like so many others. We were unable to host our spring, summer, and fall fundraisers and are limited this year in our ability to help others. ALL our tickets for Thanksgiving AND Christmas distribution were issued at the last distribution day. A reminder for those that do have tickets, if you lose them we have no way to replace them. November's distribution is this coming Monday, November 9. Only those with tickets will be served this Monday. We continue to pray daily for those we serve and those we are unable to help.

Free grocery blessings to whomever needs them! We have 216 boxes to give out on Saturday morning which will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Distribution begins at 10:30am and will continue until we run out of boxes.

Today was a great day for the pantry. We were given an opportunity to receive perishable items to distribute, thank you Becky Myers Ague for thinking of us. We had great men who hauled the food for us making multiple trips, thank you Keith Gaines, Chris Combine, and Dave Ferguson. We had a ton of tremendous help distributing at the middle school, headed up by Superintendent John Vannoy, thank you. We also had a great group volunteers at the pantry distributing. It is days like this that our hearts are filled with gratitude and joy. Thank you all.

This year the pantry will be unable to host the community Thanksgiving dinner. We will also be unable to have the St. Nicholas program for our youth. The pantry, like many of you, has also taken a financial hit due to Covid.

We will have Food Pantry Tues. Sept 8. 1:30-6:30. We will have fresh vegetables plus our other foods. Double bag + day. This is our pantry day for our membe...rs of the VBC Food Pantry. 5 years ago today we began advertising the opening of our food pantry. Over these 5 years we have been so extremely blessed to have the support of the community. We have been able to help thousands of people get through rough times. We could not have done it without you. Our first distribution was October 19, 2015 and we gave out 18 bags of food. The need has only grown since then, some months we give out almost 200 bags of food.
