Meet another member of our team: Christopher Castillo began his professional career in 2018 with a personal interest in immigration and a desire to gain more knowledge about the legal profession in general. Christopher began as a receptionist with an enthusiasm to acquire new skills and further his experience working in an office setting. He quickly became a vital part of the operation of our team and was promoted to paralegal. As a paralegal, Christopher works primarily ...on family-based petitions and applications, including green card applications and I-601A waivers, as well as asylum applications and removal defense packets. Christopher’s personal experience with immigration makes working on these types of cases all the more rewarding. Christopher is a native Spanish speaker. My Immigrant Story As the son of Nicaraguan immigrants, I am a first-generation US citizen. I’ve always had an interest in immigration law, as I lived through its day to day implications. Like many of our clients’ children, I grew up with the fear that one day I would come home from school and my mother would be gone. I remember going with her to legal consultations to translate for her as she tried to fix her legal status. When the time finally came that I could help her, it was the lawyers at Solow, Hartnett, and Galvan, LLC who took her case. Thanks to them, I no longer have the fear that she will be arrested and deported. And due to their expertise, my mother was able to revisit her hometown after 26 years of uncertainty.

President elect Biden has nominated Alejandro Mayorkas as his Secretary of Homeland Security. This is what Mr Mayorkas had to say about his nomination: When I was very young, the United States provided my family and me a place of refuge. Now, I have been nominated to be the DHS Secretary and oversee the protection of all Americans and those who flee persecution in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones. https://www.google.com//joe-biden-transition-alejandro-may

More good news. This decision means there is a possibility that first time DACA applicants might not have to wait until a Biden administration to file their applications. It will be interesting to see if USCIS complies immediately with this order #homeishere #UnitedWeDream
