Congratulations to our newest members, Holly Anne and Justin Gallup. Holly comes to us with an EMS background and Justin started with us a a junior fireman, joining the firefighter ranks with his father Bill Gallup - past Chief and current member. SFD was dispatched earlier to establish a landing zone for Stat Medevac 12 per the request of Phoenix Ambulance - 17. Assistant Chief Randy Taylor had command and Engine 23 crew secured the LZ. Fire Police provided traffic control. Priority Care Ambulance was operating another medical emergency.

Deputy Chief Jimmy JimmyandVicki Neely was presented an award for Outstanding Public Service by the American Legion Post 138 in Smethport, PA. Congratulations and Well Deserved! Jimmy pictured with his 2 children, hopefully future firefighters.

Our thoughts and prayers are with firefighter Jesse Haggard and family as they mourn the loss of Jesse’s father, Arvil.

Santa and Mrs. Claus made a quick stop to Smethport. Department Elves are showing them around. Department photographer Jim Dougherty got a picture from his home with his grandkids whom are the children of Holly Anne that belongs to our department. Merry Christmas! Santa will soon depart to make his present deliveries around the world.
