Crowns can be made from porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or a full gold crown. To maintain a natural look and feel a porcelain finished crown is best, as it can be matched to the shade of your other teeth. This will allow it to blend in and appear just like one of your natural teeth.

Deep Cleaning Periodontal Dentistry is a field of dentistry that is preventative and restorative in nature, helping clients prevent periodontal disease and restoring your gums back to health when necessary. When someone has periodontal disease it means that an excessive amount of plaque and calculus (tartar) have accumulated around the teeth, causing deterioration to the area surrounding your teeth (which can include the jaw bone). Left untreated, periodontal disease will eve...ntually begin to destroy the gums and bone * Red, swollen or bleeding gums * Loose teeth * Increased spaces between teeth * Persistent bad breath * Pus around the gums and teeth * Receding gums around a tooth * Tenderness and discomfort

Dental Implants Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth. The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months. The first part of the process is to install the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone. An incision is made in the gum so that the implant can be inserted.... Multiple implants can be placed at once if necessary. After the implants are placed the gums are sutured. The implant must be allowed about 3-6 months to heal, and during this time the jaw bone will form around the implant in a process called osseointegration. During this healing time you can have temporary crowns installed so that you can eat and speak normally and maintain a proper aesthetic appearance for your smile. After the implant has healed it is time to place an abutment on the implant. The abutment serves as the base for your new tooth. One this is placed an impression of the abutment is taken and is used to create your permanent restoration. Some offices have an onsite lab to create the crown, but others will have to send it to an outside lab. Once the restoration is completed you can return to the office to attach the restoration permanently. Your smile will look just like it used to, and after a short period of getting used to the implant it will feel just like one of your own teeth See more

Dental care is something that is needed on a universal level and at every age. We don’t think that dental care should be specifically made just for one age group. That’s why we offer dental services for people of all ages. We understand that each of our patients at their various different age groups and backgrounds have different specific needs. We work hard to make sure we meet all your needs, that your children feel happy and comfortable in our office and that we can also provide great care and excellent service to our patients of all ages. Multiple factors cause teeth to become dull and lose their bright, white sparkle. Certain foods can stain your enamel, which is the outermost layer of your teeth. Additionally, plaque buildup on your teeth can cause them to look yellow. This type of discoloration can usually be treated with regular cleaning and whitening remedies.... However, sometimes teeth look yellow because the hard enamel has eroded, revealing the dentin underneath. Dentin is a naturally yellow, bony tissue that lies underneath the enamel. #smile #dentist #dental #dentistry #dentalhygienist #dentalhygiene #dentalclinic #dentalcare #dentalcleaning #dentallab #dentalhealth #quotes #smilequotes #smiley #quotesdaily #smilephilly

Sensitive teeth often come from the fact that your gums have slightly receded. This recession of the gum line allows the underlying dentin to show through which allows water and food easier access to the sensitive nerve. To manage this, there are a number of toothpastes, gels and even some dental procedures that can be applied. Speak to us in more detail if you have very sensitive teeth.

Toothbrushing with a fluoride toothpaste is important for good oral hygiene, plaque removal, keeping the mouth clean and healthy, and improving a child's breath and sense of taste. Appropriate cleaning, storage and replacement of toothbrushes are also important to prevent spread of disease. #smile #smiling #laugh #lol #teethwhitening #teeth #doctor #dentist #dental #smilephilly

Keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it sounds. With all the coffee, wine, smoking and other foods that have the ability to stain our teeth on a daily basis, even proper maintenance sometimes leaves them a little lackluster. Teeth whitening is an excellent way to restore the natural color of your teeth or even make them whiter than your natural color if you would like. #smile #smiling #laugh #lol #teethwhitening #teeth #doctor #dentist #dental #smilephilly
