SPRING TOWNSHIP UPDATE ON TRASH AND RECYCLING - FEBRUARY 2, 2021 EAGLE DISPOSAL Eagle Disposal will not be collecting Monday and Tuesday’s Trash this week, you will be allowed double the amount next week. Wednesday through Friday's Trash will be picked up as usual.... WASTE MANAGEMENT RECYCLING COLLECTION: Monday’s Recycling will be collected Wednesday; Tuesday and Wednesday’s recycling collection will be picked up Thursday; Thursday’s collection will be picked up Friday; Friday’s collection will be picked up Saturday.

ATTENTION SPRING TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS: UPDATE - FEBRUARY 1, 2021 No Trash collection Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021. There is a wonder in the winter season that can’t be matched at other times of the year, and our parks offer great outdoor adventures and breathtaking views for those who brave the cold! Cross-country skiing is a great way to experience the outdoors in winter and Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests offer some of the best places to ski. Due to COVID-19 regulations, PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.... Each person planning to attend these programs MUST be individually pre-registered. All children under 18 must have a parent or guardian pre-registered to attend with them. Township Parks - Open on Thanksgiving Day! Since you may not be traveling or having a house full of guests for the holiday, why not take some time and go for a walk in the park? Cacoosing Meadows Park invites you to go over the river and enjoy a stroll along the creek while you listen for various birds and water fowl who call the park their home. If you want to go through the woods, Shiloh Hills Park has a newly paved section of trail from the parking lot to the Environ...mental Education Center. From the Center you can take a gravel trail down through the woods and loop back up to the paved trail. There is also a paved trail around the sports field if you prefer a more level trail out in the sunshine! Whether you go over the river or through the woods, you won’t find Grandma’s house at either park, but you can always send her a selfie of you and your family out enjoying your parks on Thanksgiving Day

SANTA’S MAILBOX Does your child need to get a special message to Santa? Well, the Parks and Recreation Department has made special arrangements to assist Santa with all the letters he receives. Boys and girls, just follow these 3 easy steps: Address your envelope to Santa as: SANTA CLAUS - NORTH POLE... To receive a return letter from Santa, be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Drop letters off in Santa’s Mailbox at the Township of Spring Administration Building Parking Lot, 2850 Windmill Rd., between Monday, November 16th and Sunday, December 6th, 2020. The North Pole Express Stop by the Township Administration Building where Santa’s Helpers will be collecting letters and handing out goodie bags to children ages 0-12! To adhere to local safety guidelines, this is a drive-thru event in which all participants will remain in their vehicles. This will also be last call to drop off your letters to Santa! When: Sunday December 6th, 2020 from 2:00pm -4:00pm Where: Township Administration Building Cost: FREE (No registration required) Holiday Decoration Contest Get into the holiday spirit with some neighborly competition! Decorate your home for the holiday season and submit the address to the Parks Department. Judges will come around on December 17th to pick a winner for each category: Best Themed Display, Best Classic Display, and Clark Griswold (best lighting display). Each category will need to have a minimum of 3 participants for this program to continue. Deadline to submit address: 12/3/2020 Call or go to our website to register! The Township of Spring will observe Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 31st, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please practice COVID-19 safety protocols such as sanitizing, wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing. Residents should refer to the CDC Guidelines for Halloween Safety at https://www.cdc.gov//2019/daily-life-coping/holidays.html. It is recommended that residents who do not wish to participate in Trick or Treat night, keep their porch lights off for the duration of the evening on October 31, 2020.
