LORD, you were favourable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people; you pardoned all their sin. Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts. Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other. Faithfulness... will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky. The LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before him, and will make a path for his steps. (Psalm 85:1-2,8-13) Please join us for worship on Sunday, December 6th at 9:00AM. This will be our final communion celebration for 2020 and all are invited to the Lord’s table. We will be gathering in-person with masks and social distancing or on-line for our worship. May God’s strength and peace be with all of you. Pastor Martin See more

St. John’s UCC- Howertown 07.11.2020

Our Christmas Eve service will be held on December 24th at 7:30 PM. At this time it is unknown if it will be held at the church as well as online due to Covid-19 concerns. Stay-tuned for more information. At present, our services remain both in-person and on-line but we ask that if you choose to worship in the church, you only do so if you are feeling well. A mask is required at all times.

I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed. This poor soul cried, and was heard by the LORD, and was saved from every trouble. The angel of the LORD encamps around tho...se who fear him, and delivers them. O taste and see that the LORD is good; happy are those who take refuge in him. O fear the LORD, you his holy ones, for those who fear him have no want. The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. (Psalm 34:1-10,22) Please join us for worship this Sunday, November 1st as we commemorate All Saints Sunday and pause to lift up to God thanksgiving for those lives we have lost in the past year and celebrate their new life through Christ. We will be worshiping at 9:00AM in-person and on-line and all are welcome to join us in whatever way you feel comfortable gathering with us. Also, remember to turn your clocks back one hour on Saturday. Have a blessed day. Pastor Martin See more

A Lesson for all.

St. John’s UCC- Howertown 07.10.2020

Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in... the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. (Psalm 1) Reformation Sunday, October 258th finds us gathering together in many different ways for worship and celebration of our love for God and for one another. Join us in-person or on Facebook at 9:00AM as we honor our heritage and our God! Pastor Martin See more

The Lord is king; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake! The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples. Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he! Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. Extol the Lord our God; worship at his footstool. Holy is he! Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called on h...is name. They cried to the Lord, and he answered them. He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept his decrees, and the statutes that he gave them. O Lord our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God to them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings. Extol the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy. (Psalm 99) Join us for worship at St, John’s on Sunday, October 18th at 9:00AM in person or on-line using Facebook. We gather to celebrate God’s presence and to be the image of God in a challenging world. May God bless each of you. Pastor Martin See more
