St. Patrick Parish CYO Sports

St. Patrick CYO athletes attended the first annual Spring CYO Retreat this past weekend. The retreat started with Mass, followed by pizza and featured guest speaker, Mr. Barry Kirsch. Mr. Kirsch has spent the past 55 years as a Catholic School educator in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He has been a math teacher and coach at Archbishop John Carroll High School for the past 52 years, having taught and coached several CYO board members, as well as many parents and even g...randparents of our student athletes! Mr. Kirsch is a true example of stewardship and living one’s faith. He spoke to the athletes about their faith and the importance of incorporating it into their everyday lives. A few key points shared by Mr. Kirsch include: Put God first. Family, school, work, and sports will fall into place if God is first. Talk to God each day. Prayers can be simple. Please dear God, show me what it is you want me to do today and give me the grace, strength, and courage to make it happen. Pray, hope, DON’T WORRY Padre Pio Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. Motive, Inspire, Challenge, Elevate your fellow team members. Thank you to the parents of our student athletes for sending them to the retreat for an evening of prayer, friendship, and learning about living their faith as CYO athletes.

Congrats to Natalie and Evan who won the Parish, District, and Regional Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition. They move on to the State Competition in 2 weeks.

Congrats to our varsity girls on winning their first game in the AOP tournament vs Sacred Heart 52-24 and advancing to the sweet 16. The Warriors play today vs St Coleman/John Neuman at 4:45 at Bonner/Prendie in Upper Darby. Varsity regional girls basketball team finished first in the region and is hosting a playoff game tonight, Wednesday Feb 5th @ 7:45. Let's get as many people there to support the girls. They are having a GREAT season and looking to make a run in the playoffs.

It was CYO Night at Bishop Shanahan’s Varsity Basketball game last night. A few of our Warriors attended to represent St Pats CYO and to support the Shanahan Eagles!
