The glory of God is shown in the transformation of his people. Think about that #essential thought today. Does your life show the change that comes from knowing Christ? Do your actions reflect His glory?... Moses’ face would shine with God’s glory after he spent time with God. Read about it in Exodus 34:29-35. Do you make time to be with God in his scriptures? God uses those times to change and comfort and correct us. Hundreds of years later, Paul reflected on Moses in 2 Corinthians 3:7-18. He indicated that when people put their trust in the Lord Jesus they are transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This is a work He does in us when we open our lives to Him. The more we become like him, the more those around us see His glory. So shine his glory today by showing His character of love, grace, peace and mercy. Shine his glory as a household by intentionally putting your trust in Him and committing to His way by doing the household covenant (available at www.Stillnaz.com/householdcovenant). Welcome the information that brings transformation. That’s the #essential thought for today. Are you making room in your mind and heart for the information that brings transformation?... In Exodus 34:15-28 Moses is receiving instruction from God that is designed to help the Israelites keep their relationship from and center in their lives. God cared enough to give them guidance in how to live. And in 1 Thessalonians 1, Paul recounts how the people of Thessalonica had welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And because they welcomed the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, their lives were transformed and their example rang like a bell through the land. Jesus is the information that brings transformation. When we welcome him into our lives, he enters the house of our hearts and points out what’s dangerous to us and what needs to go. Allow Him access to every thought and attitude today. Let him change you from the inside out. God knows you need it. God knows the world needs it too. God is jealous for you. That’s today’s #essential thought. He longs for you like a lover longs for their beloved. He self-describes as the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. (Exodus 34:14)... Rest in the beautiful truth that the Lord, the Lord, is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. (Exodus 34:6-7a) And be warned of the beautiful truth that he does not leave the guilty unpunished (Exodus 34:7) Is that a beautiful truth? Yes, because it means he cares about us. Sin destroys us. So, he cares to get rid of sin in the world. And what’s wonderful is that, God is so jealous for you, that He sent Jesus to take all the sin of the world in himself on the cross...forgiving all! We need only to come to him, repent of our sin, receive that forgiveness and live with His instruction guiding our way. As Moses came to the mountain with blank stone tablets, let’s come to God with a blank canvas for Him to give us the terms. Idols are like alley cats; the more you feed them, the more they multiply, infect and spread. That’s today’s #essential thought. No, this is not an anti-cat post! This is an anti-idolatry post. (1 John 5:21...keep yourselves from idols)... An idol is anything that we allow to take away our attention from loving God or others. The more we devote to that habit, thought pattern or action, the more it grows, infects our soul and spreads to others. Read 2 Kings 17:7-20 to see how Israel dove headfirst into idolatry and abandoned their God-given purpose. Think deeply about what might be your idol. What gets in the way of you or your household serving God and serving others? Consider Jesus’ words in Matthew 16:21-28. Overcoming idolatry is discipleship. Jesus said: whoever wants to be my disciple must an item selves and take up the cross and follow me. We encourage you to do the household covenant (www.Stillnaz.com/householdcovenant) as an act of anti-idolatry in your home, an act of putting God first together.
