Good Evening and welcome to Compline!
Jeremy Tackett, from The Episcopal Church’s Office of Communications, doing some real hands on evangelism today as he helps make our new A/V system for live-streaming a reality. Eventually we will be able to safely return to in-person worship in our beloved sanctuary, and when we do we will now be able to include all of the folks who have become a part of community during this season of virtual worship! (And keep an eye out- St. Mary’s, HV, will be starring in an instructional video about how to retrofit an elderly church on a (very) small budget!)
Acedia is a word coined by medieval monastics to describe a sort of spiritual torpor, marked by distraction and restlessness. Sound familiar? Check out the article below from Dear Pandemic for some incredibly helpful resources on recognizing it, naming it, and making your way through it.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct 21st, we will be joining the Penn community for #PennRemembers A Virtual Vigil: A Day to Pause and Reflect in remembrance of those who we have lost in this pandemic. For additional information, read here: https://mailchi.mp/38f5d8401362/pennremembers-oct21vigil
Carrying some worries about the coming election? In addition to our Election Night Zoom Compline service, try out these personal devotions at home on Nov 3rd.
