What a beautiful day! Come out and support local cancer patients and their families. We will be at the gazebo in downingtown from 8-3. If you haven’t signed up it’s not to late. This Run is Personal 2020 Covid Edition.

Thank you to Ed Hart and the Whitford Charitable Fund for their generous donation to the Karen L. Baker Scholarship Fund. They have given over a million dollars to 70 different local charities in the last 10 years. Amazing!!!! We are humbled to be chosen. This money will go towards the $30k in scholarships that we will give to high school seniors in Chester County attending college in the fall of 2021 that have been effected by cancer in their lives. We do this in honor of Ka...ren L. Baker who passed from cancer on November 3, 2016. The Whitford Classic 10 was postponed due to the uncertainty of the times. They usually have 500 people involved in this event - how would we do it with a gathering of only 15? But then the Whitford Country Club membership didn't want the year to go by without supporting our community. They didn't want the chosen organizations to struggle with the difficult year. The members didn't need to gather to golf, play tennis, and dance at the dinner to reach out and help the organizations who help those in our town. And so Whitford Classic 9.5 was born.

We are excited to announce the virtual This Run is Personal 2020. Date: November 7th-8th. You will get a race day shirt, and a sign for your loved ones that you will be able to anchor at the Kerr Park Gazebo in Downingtown for the weekend. Further details and signups are coming out soon. Help me congratulate Maria Colon from West Chester East High School. She is the 2020 Karen L. Baker Scholarship $20,000 recipient. Maria is a cancer survivor heading to PSU to study molecular biology. Her goal is to get a Ph. D. and specialize in cancer treatment research!
