Congratulations to the 2019-2020 cohort of the PA Education Policy Fellowship Program that had its much-delayed graduation & recognition program today via Zoom.... An outstanding group of 20 education, policy, and community leaders who demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to each other and to the Fellowship Program which was interrupted and delayed by the pandemic. But they worked hard to finish the final several sessions via Zoom, including the presentation of outstanding team project policy proposals. It was a delight to work with these Fellows and to be associated with the great work they do. They are now among the more than 600 alumni who have completed the Pennsylvania Fellowship Program since 1999! See more

This Friday (10/30), our PA Education Policy Fellows will discuss issues concerning Ethical Leadership. Some thoughts about LEADERSHIP MATTERS: #9 (10/25) A le...ader's behavior should be guided by a moral compass about right & wrong rather than a public opinion poll or desire for personal financial or political gain. #8 (10/20) Truth and Integrity matter! #7 (10/18) Words matter. Leaders choose their words carefully - and accept responsibility for what they say. #6 (10/15) Successful leaders build bridges and relationships rather than walls and barriers - among people, communities, and nations. #5 (10/13) Effective leaders mentor, nurture, and empower others. #4 (10/9) Credibility and trust are not acquired because of position or title, but must be earned. #3 (10/6) A leader should be quicker to take more responsibility than to take more power. #2 (10/4) One measure of a leader is the integrity and competence of those chosen to be the leader's team of staff, advisors, and key appointees. #1 (10/2) One description of a leader is a person who influences other people to do something those people otherwise would not do. Of course, this influence can be for good or for evil. See more
