This #TruthTuesday, our focus is on the tried and true Q-Tip. Q-Tips are the most popular tool for ear cleaning, but are they actually GOOD for your ears? The answer is, surprisingly, NO. While earwax removal is tempting, our ears are sensitive. Q-Tips can be damaging to your eardrum and potentially your overall hearing. Our ear canal tends to get enough cleaning just from regular showers, so there's generally no need to clean it otherwise. As Audiology Awareness Month continues, there are facts we'd like to share that many of our followers may not know. For instance: that a simple task, like mowing the lawn, can cause noise-induced hearing loss over time. So can fireworks, hair dryers, or even the alarm clock you use each day.
