The Farm at 415 Birmingham 21.01.2021

The Battle of the Brandywine was the largest and longest battle of the American Revolution. On September 11, 1777, British and Hessian soldiers outmaneuvered George Washington’s Continentals as they tried to defend against Sir William Howe’s advance on Philadelphia. One of the routes of the battle had the troops travel down birmingham road and past through the farm. Glad to own such a significant part of our American history! #BattleOfBrandywine #thefarmhistory #september11 #1777 Dara Gans John Marshall ViNtAgE-ReLiCs Dara & John's Wedding

Yes or No? Thoughts? Pop of color in the mudroom ? Large wall will be black chalk & a large vintage window will go on this wall. We are thinking of doing a pop of color (little blue box) on the other 3 walks with white trim. ViNtAgE-ReLiCs John Marshall Dara Gans Dara & John's Wedding #farmhouse #farmhouserennovations

As shown on this map...and written in historical reports...on 9/11/1777...The Farm at 415 Birmingham (c. 1770’s) witnessed the British and Hessian Troops travel through it and down the road in front of it during The Battle of Brandywine, also known as the Battle of Brandywine Creek. The Battle was fought between the American Continental Army of General George Washington and the British Army of General Sir William Howe on September 11, 1777, as part of the American Revolutiona...ry War (1775-1783). The forces met near Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, as Howe moved to take Philadelphia, then the American capital. The "Redcoats" of the British Army defeated the American rebels and forced them to withdraw northeast toward of Philadelphia. More troops fought at Brandywine than any other battle of the American Revolution. It was also the longest single-day battle of the war, with continuous fighting for 11 hours. #oldhouse #oldhouserennovations #keepingthecharm #historichomes #westchester #vintagerelics #thefarmat415 #thefarm #thefarmat415birmingham ViNtAgE-ReLiCs See more

To buy or not to buy? Y?/N? This vintage case came from an old hardware store in Wilmington, Delaware that has been closed for 50 years. It still has all of the original hand blown class intact. #oldhouse #oldhouserennovations #keepingthecharm #historichomes #westchester #vintagerelics #thefarmat415 #thefarm #thefarmat415birmingham John Marshall Dara Gans ViNtAgE-ReLiCs The Farm at 415 Birmingham
